There's this white nasal energy stimulant that comes in powder form. People told me it helps with focus, efficiency and generally be faster at a lot of things.
Just get an Adderall script - it's cheaper
When thinking about buying an alarm clock or personal chef or topless maid, just get the 3-in-1.
When she’s cooking the bacon in the morning and it pops and she gets grease spatter on her boobs and goes “ooh!” - you know it’s time to wake up in the morning.
Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey
Wyd when she starts taking topless selfies in the mirror and posts it on online forums
About to quit my 24 membership to spend $$$ on the gym in my building.
Eat at desk, workout during lunch, shower and get back to it. Probably wont work every day but if I could follow through the above 4x/week I'd be happy.
Do you lift heavy to save on time ?
Lifting heavy requires longer rest periods.
I like lifting on the heavier side, and doing compound movements is more time-efficient than single muscle exercises
Some life hacks for me.
I usually make all my meals at work light and right, but more importantly simple. Protein shake & banana or grits is my breakfast. Lunch is usually a meal from an online meal plan, and two times a week I go out for lunch. Doesn't require much planning or stress, and pretty cheap and the bonus is it's healthy.
Take naps 2 days a week right after work. And pick usually a Tuesday or Thursday to sleep real early. I work from 5-2 and every weekend these days, so usually go to bed by 8:30. One day I'll do it all early. Pop 2 melatonin's at 530, another at 6 and in bed by 6:30. Wake up at 4, feeling great.
Mondays I do nothing. Usually the most stressful and busy after work. I likely nap after work and literally do nothing after work besides that and hang with the girl.
Vacation. I plan two international and two domestic yearly. These 4 trips give you deadlines to meet and are excellent at refreshing you.
Most of all...sex 2-3/ day. I think that helps a lot with stress and giving you energy. Usually before bed and when I wake up everyday.
Office life hacking half-ass-ery (Originally Posted: 12/05/2014)
Our office is doing Secret Santa and, while I'm cool with giving a good gift, I can't be arsed buying wrapping paper.
So I've done a GIS on wrapping paper, cut and paste the image into a Word doc and printed that out as the wrapping paper.
Does anyone else have examples of half arsed life hacking involving the use and abuse of company resources?

My fiance and I bought the do it your self type of wedding invitations where you get the the paper and card stock and everything, you just need to fill out the forms and print it and you're good to go.
I'll be using the office printer for about 100 of these invitations.

+1 The strainer in the toilet almost seems plausible.
Buy something that can't be wrapped. For example a massage with a happy ending.
Here's 2 I use often:
People will stop showing you picture of their kids if you whisper "oh fuck yeah" under your breath when you look at their photos
Instead of buying game of thrones, watch lord of the rings and just put on some porn every 10 minutes.
I have no idea how to react when people show me pictures of their kids. Or how long I'm supposed to look for. I usually just say "well done."
+1
Having an analyst.
1 by a MILE when you have kids is getting your wife to stop working.
Obviously doesn't work for everyone, but this is the first year that we've done it and it is a game changer. No other small hack comes even close.
like what do you get for it? Is it more sex? less nagging? more extramarital sex?
Kids are awesome, but also very difficult. She now drops them off at school, picks them up, has dinner ready, clean house, homework, time to do other stuff, etc... I don't get dirty looks every time I say I cant do a dr. appointment or stay home with a sick kid.
Getting kids home from daycare at 6 and trying to feed them something (semi-healthy) while they're screaming because they're hungry is a horrible way to start an evening. Now, they're home by 5 and eating a planned dinner.
Happy wife=happy life is part of it, but it's much more that out entire family isn't in a state of chaos and disarray at all times.
Definitely looking forward to following this thread, always amazed at the best practices / hacks other people have an incorporate them if I can. Some of mine below:
Are your noise cancelling headphones over the ear? I love my QC35's but I find them tough to use at work because they almost always put an indent in my hair / make it look less professional. I'd love to use them more often since they really do help drown everything out.
Yep, they are over the ear. I wear them loose so that it's not putting to much pressure on my hair and fortunately I don't have a lot of hair problems with them. Bose has in-ear headphones that are noise cancelling now and work well.
This is great (+SB) - staying hydrated is really important for me
Spending 5- 10 minutes at the end of each day writing down my plan/action items for the following day really helps me hit the ground running when I get into the office each morning. Seems to also help prevent the random one off tasks from falling through the cracks.
Work out 3 x per week is mandatory.
Like this - think it's missing some stuff:
Making time for friends / SO every week
Trying to develop some hobbies / areas of interest outside of work besides just drinking
