Workstation Ergonomics Discussion - Monitor stands, shit like that..

I have a question for myself, but also, I think it would be nice to have a thread where we discuss our workstation setups, accessories you like, monitor setups, etc.

My thing is I can't find a monitor stand that has a good amount of elevation or ability to travel up and down a good bit. Here's my current setup. I got two stands and they're both basically the same height. One goes up and down like an inch only from rotating the little legs. I'd like to avoid using books and shit, but I searched the first 5 pages of Amazon and couldn't find a good one. So does anyone have any ideas? Or should I just mount my monitor to my desk on a stand that travels a good bit?

I like the monitors which themselves can move up/down probably 6 inches like on a track, as well as swivel into portrait mode (for reading documents) and back to landscape (presentations, excel)

e.g. this is not an affiliate link or anything, just first result that made sense:

Portrait and adjustable: Portrait and adjustable example

No portrait mode, a little cheaper: No portrait mode example

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

I recommend what Synergy is saying, the monitors with the built in height adjustment are great and you don't need to take extra desk space with the stand. I use the second link posted at the office and its perfect. I will say, I need to get a stand up desk like everyone else seems to have. I use the monitor with my laptop on a stand to the left like you have here, but then my portable monitor on the right, in a portrait format. It's great for reading documents like Synergy mentioned.

This doesn't have to do with ergonomics, but I'm shocked by how few people I see with portable monitors. For those of you who travel a lot, I highly recommend one like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LPC3U8Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpa…

Also NOT affiliated, just find it super valuable. No power supply, plugs into your USB. Can fit in my bag with my laptop comfortably and still get double monitor functions when I'm on the road without a bunch of extra cords.

Personally - i like multiple monitors, and if i can have one flipped vertically, find it much easier to read documents than on a horizontal (also can make editing and comparing a bit easier if you have to do that).

More importantly - please invest in an actual coaster for your coffee cup... the stained notepad is warping my mind.
