Would any of you do a Qaddafi, or a Madoff?

So, Muammar finally got his dues, after 40 years of complete luxury at the expense of his people. Madoff got 150 years after living the high life fraudulently for decades.

Would you trade that kind of lifestyle for that many years of your life, if after say, 40 years, it gets whipped out from under your feet and its prison/poverty/misery forever after.

You don't have to be evil/dictator/criminal so i'm not challenging your morality, more of a trade off, is 40 years of the good life when you're younger and able to make the most of it worth a bad afterlife.

Interesting to see what you guys say, since you all want to/work in finance, which is a complete volte face of the above scenario.

Personally, I think the form of democracy existing in most of the Western world is REALLY bad. No politician will make hard choices because they just want to get re-elected. Benevolent dictatorship is the way forward!

With regards to Gadaffi, he is dead and only had ~2 months of poor living compared to 42 years of utmost luxury, decent enough tradeoff if you ask me.

I'd pull a Madoff.

But if you were to be like Qaddafi or Madoff you would remembered forever, may not be for the best reason but you will be remembered instead of being forgotten.

haha this is one of the most pathetic thing's I've read

Wow, King. You post anti religious shit all the time and now you are talking about an after life.

Who the fuck cares.

Qaddafi is a fucking retard for not escaping to Africa sooner. This wasn't Iraq that moved fast. He could of left the country with hard currency a long time ago.

He wasn't and is not a scumbag. He is a friend and ally of Obama.

Such a typical 15 minutes of fame mentality.

losers can't make the distinction between the words "famous" and "infamous".

They are antonyms, not synonyms.

No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions; he had money as well.

I plan on dying at 65 sharp anyway. So bring on the stolen cash and all the bitches that come with it on the side.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

I'll be honest, if I could live 40 years in pure luxury and then get shot to death....is that a question? Hell, I'd rather be shot to death than be tortured in a hospital bed for weeks on end as it is. If I could have ANYTHING I wanted leading up it it...lol.

Both of your examples had escape routes but either wanted to save their families (Madoff) or were too egotistical to se the writing on the wall (Gaddaffi).

Reality hits you hard, bro...

The problem is, you never know if the next day is going to be your last when you're living a lie. So while you might ultimately last 40 years, you are scared shitless day in and day out that any day someone could bust through your front door and it would all go away. That fear would prevent me from truly enjoying the riches.

However, if you're asking if I'd accept a $1 billion lump sum now to die at the age of 65, I'd probably accept.

No, I don't hate religion, I hate people like Pat Robertson, Bryan Fischer, Ralph Reed, and the rest of the hypocritical, manipulative frauds.

I don't give a fuck if people want to worship Jesus or a potato, not my business. I take issue when people try and push their so-called morals on society at large. It's especially absurd because no one can prove whether or not there is or is not a God with even a scintilla of certainty, so how can they be some sort of moral authority on him / her / it?

Agnosticism is the only honest position. And, again, for the record, I believe in a higher power, I just don't see any credible reason to believe that it cares about what people do in the bedroom.

Did you guys see the video of his body being dragged through the streets ? Brutal. Not sure if that is worth 42 years of living like a King. Plus he probably watched his sons being murdered or at the very least knew that they would also meet a violent end. No, not worth it.

The son that did like nothing wrong (Saif) is alive. But the dude who ran the Libyan version of the SS, Khamis, died. And another son died far away. I though the question was would you take a lot of money now if you were gonna be pauperized/die in 40 years. I still think the answer for most people should be yes. If you become a billionaire by yourself, thats something, but otherwise having Gaddafi money for 40 years is nice as hell. Then you die of blood loss? I mean it's not like he was tortured, he just had like 30 mins of pain for a 40 year rule- I think thats a fair trade off.
