Written offer delay

In March 2020 I was selected for a IBD internship. Due to Covid-19 the start of my internship has been moved to Oct 2020. The HR told me that she would have given me the internship contract (written offer) well in advance (immediately) so I could be sure of the internship. I sent all my relevant data (id, bank account...) and waited. Since May, I have tried to e-mail the HR asking for the written contract and she told me that they were still working from home, and they would have dealt with internships/contracts once returned back to the office (not before the end of june for sure). I am still waiting for my contract and nobogy got in touch. Is there a chance my internship has been cancelled? Thank you

Yes, could have definitely been cancelled

How many times have you emailed, and just HR?

If you haven't already, email your initial contact person or interviewers and express interest, even if it's virtual and/or unpaid (don't lead with offering that) - unpaid isn't great but I'm sure they're hesitating to pay an intern to do basically nothing in a virtual environment.
