Well one costs a couple of hundred bucks and the other is ~$1,500. So...unless money is no object to you, your decision should be based on the cost and your perceived benefit of attending.
How about you attend the conference, then get a hold of all the free modeling guides you can through Google and this website. Then, read the Rosenbaum book.
