WSO Hedge Fund Guide and added value for an Event driven recruitment

Hello Everyone,

I'm fairly new here! Living in France and doing my masters in Management at a top B-school in the country. I am currently in the recruitment process at an event driven hedge fund in Paris with their corporate (event) driven strategy team (excluding Merger arbitrage). The Hedge fund in itself is a bit popular and has a strong track record. The position would also be a mix of execution and research/analysis since they want a junior for the position.

Anw, I know that my chances are not that great since I'm only a graduate with a few internships but none in investment management: 6 months with an M&A boutique and 6 month in PE.
I wanted to know how much good would buying th WSO hedge fund guide do for me in the interview process?

Moreover, is the guide up to date with current events and companies or is it stuck with information from early 2017 or older: Are the cases, templates and investment pitches/ideas up-to-date for me to pitch them directly during the interview? Or the data for the companies analyzed and pitched date too far back ?
Does the guide provide an investment idea/strategy that can be used at an event driven hedge fund (excluding Merger Arbitrage)

Finally I would welcome any feedback from user who used/bought it and did or did not receive an offer.

I welcome all answers from people who recently bought the guide (299$)/used it recently and of course from any of the WSO staff!

Thanks in advance people!
