Xbox Series X, PS5 or Neither

For all of you gamers out there, are you planning on participating in this latest generation of higher end consoles? If so, which and why?

My last console I owned was a playstation but I’m planning on an xbox since that’s what my brother’s going to get and the hardware looks like a better value. I’m also guessing that Microsoft is going to exert monopolistic powers and further acquire more popular game studios, ultimately closing them off to Sony’s platform.

I have a great gaming PC and a giant house but I don’t want to run hardline into the rooms that are more appropriate for a pc. So Im going to get a 4k 120hz big screen with this. Also nice to not have to follow hardware trends anymore.

I second this. I wish I could play Escape from Tarkov without getting so addicted I’d get fired from my job. I lack that self control when it comes to realistic shooters

Yeah, I did this right at the start of Covid and was a great decision. A little tricky / time consuming to build for the first time, but now that I've done it once, I'll never buy a pre-built PC again. Saved $$$$ and have the most powerful PC I've ever had. I highly recommend reading the manuals and watching YouTube videos for exactly how to do each step (install components, run wires, put fans on the right way, etc.)

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Get the one your friends are getting, you’ll have more fun. Unless you play single payer only than go with the one that you think is gonna have better exclusives. Have a pc now, but when I was younger it was always PlayStation. So many good memories playing vice city, San Andreas, Jack and Dexter on that after school. Last one I had was the PS4, but didn’t really get too many games on that. It also sucks you have to pay for online.

Agreed. I'm indifferent between xbox and ps, and even think ps has better exclusive titles, but my friends from home and school all have xbox, so thats what I have always gone with. It's not even the gaming aspect that I really like anymore--it lets me and my friends from Boston and elsewhere do shit together easily even though I'm hours away.

Dayman?

Exactly. I don't really care if the game is good or not, as long as it's fun to fuck around and relax a little.

I am a pretty big gamer one of my biggest hobbies. I personally am not a fan of pc gaming. I have a 65 inch OLED TV with surround speakers and Dolby Atmos with a nice ass comfortable couch, I currently have a Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro. I also have a Nintendo switch which is a really fun party device. Every time we go to the bar or a party and come back it’s really fun to play smash bros drunk with the boys. Honestly I spend way more than the regular person on games and luckily I have managed to pre order a PS5 and a Xbox Series X. So to answer your question I am getting both and to anyone who doesn’t game try to get into, it will really change your life (as in you will become addicted).

PC Master Race, but if I had to choose a console PS5 no question. Sony > Microsoft for days.
