laaaaawl... just wasted 3 minutes of my life.
And again Yale kids show why overly academic universities make fucked up kids
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you an Ivy League grad?
Ivy does not equal "academic" at least in the sense he is getting at. I interpret academic as meaning deep springs/Chicago type schools where they discuss pointless shit about "politics", "social justice" or "the meaning of life" ad nauseum. Not in a constructive, interesting or meaningful way but in a way that makes them appear "different". People shit on MIT/Carnegie Mellon on this site for producing grads who are unable to cope with the social environment that is banking, but they haven't seen nothing yet until they've met a Chicago/Rice/Vassar kid who is interested in attending law school.
Only nerdy academics who would cite a law school ranking saying that Yale is a better grad school than Harvard/Stanford would choose to attend it over the latter two much more appreciated by society (and hella more preftigious to the lay man)
jdOasis.com worthy...thanks for heads up
fyi, article on front page of NYT about brutal drop in law apps http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/31/education/law-schools-applications-fa…
I mean, this person is totally right. People at top schools suck. Most of what this person wrote doesn't resonate with me, but the mention of the stigma attached with "going corporate" rings loud and clear -- how many times I've had trust-fund hipsters ask me "i mean, liek, y u no do something useful to t3h world instead of finance???" is beyond me at this point.
Great read, but not worth the effort IMO. If you are a vacuous douche in law school reading an essay isn't going to snap you out of it. Just get a job and forget those losers.
so the guy bitches about how everyone is overly sensitive and then criticizes everyone for hurting hi feelings? one or the other dude
maybe he IS one of the people he's criticizing. whoa. fuckin meta, dude
Liked the intensity--loved the intensity--but I didn't think anything he said was actually funny or clever at all. At no point did I even consider laughing. And if that's Yale Law level writing, then.....don't quit your day job champ. Woops! You just did.
I'm not so sure this person was going for funny or clever so much as he was making sure everyone got the "Fuck you."
Fucking loved it.
My friend at Columbia Law says that the school is conducting pre-OCI meetings with students in an effort to make them come off as less of socially awkward automatons
I think I have a different threshold for 'epic'.
Thank god he didnt have a gun
