Year End Review Advice ( about performance, comp, etc.)

An1 here at a BB currently 6 months on the job. With my year end review coming up in a couple weeks, I wanted to get advice on how to bring up pay increases and bonuses since I feel like this is the most obvious setting to talk about these things. I wouldn't hesitate if I was here a full year but don't want to come off presumptive or arrogant mentioning it this early on. In short, can I bring up the question of pay raises without putting my boss off?

This isn't even about performance at this point even though I've gotten positive feedback. Mainly want to make sure I'm not leaving anything on the table and that my pay rises with inflation. I may be overthinking but just wanted to get advice on this and year end reviews in general. Are pay raises standard and automatic or should I be bringing it up? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: want to be clear I don't expect anything lol by pay raises, I am talking about the bump from A1 to A2 and whether that is automatic or something that needs to be brought up!

Makes sense - I'm not trying to get more money. I know that there are incremental bumps in pay and wanted to see if that was automatic or if it still needed to be mentioned. thanks for the comment

Uh... what? You are asking for more money after 6 months on the job as a first year BB analyst? Your MD will laugh in your face. Your pay is standardized. You will get a pay bump when you are “promoted” to An2. The only comp related point in your review will be your bonus. And even if you crush it or don’t, you will still have ~6 months to either improve or keep up the good work. In short, you have no negotiating power.

Hey should've been clearer in the topic. I am not approaching the conversation asking for more money or expecting it. In essence I know there are bumps going from An1 to An2 but I wasn't sure if those were automatic/how or when it'd start or if I'd need to bring it up. Fully aware it's standardized and don't expect anything more
