1000.
8 hours twice a week (Tuesday/Wednesday) 161000= $16,000 16,00052= $832,000 + $83,200 (bonus) = $915,200 and you would have an amazing quality of life.
Just curious, how'd you calculate/ arrive at that bonus
The OP said bonus is 10% of base.
I think what CuriousAnalyst meant is that your annual salary = $1,000 x hours/week.

This brings about the question of whether the IB work/life balance is actually worth the money. Looking at this any other way seems illogical to me
I don't think so cause that's pretty outrageous... The bare minimum I could say is like 60 in a low COL area.
Don't destroy my dreams.
Well 175k is perfect for my tastes, so yup, dial back the hours and keep it simple.
So many pussies on this site...
The answer is work 24/7, and become a millionaire by October.
I need my time at work, so if my job is interesting I'm taking the full 40 hour work week most of the time but if I get to choose my hours I'll work a lot more in the winter and a lot less in the summer. I'm still looking at $2.3 M per year. On second thought... sign me up. Although... it's not like these numbers are that far out of reach for someone with 15 years under their belt. I know Big 4 partners making about 80% of this and working about 60 hours per week.
$1000/hour? That would put you in the same league as the top billing power law partners on the street except even they only get to bill at this level for the works directly performed by themselves, as opposed to works done by their associates etc.
I wonder how many individuals in the U.S actually bill at $1000/hour, off the top of my head I can think only of the above-mentioned power lawyers and some high end pornstar escorts.
Note: we are only talking about hourly rates here per the OP's question which is different from total annual compensation for a Big 4/MBB partner, as the latter includes significant amount of profit shares.
