If you can't figure out #1 with a quick search, then maybe this is the wrong industry for you.
As for #2, Monitor is likely doing slightly less recruitment, but, if it is bought by Deloitte, they will honor the offers given by Monitor. I know for a fact that Monitor is still recruiting though.
Deloitte S+O internships are posted on our OCR, so yes. I'm pretty sure they allow you to apply online if they don't recruit on campus at your institution, as well.
I an confirm also that Deloitte S&O has summer internships. They were at my campus earlier this year (Asia-Pacific).
S&O for sure has internships, but they are more competitive than their FT applications. They mentioned during our recruiting that they had around 70-80 interns nationwide last yr or the yr before, but well over than in FT hires.
It sounds like all (most) Monitor consultants will be fired and rehired by Deloitte S&O within the next several months.
If the deal goes through, what's the point of doing Monitor recruiting? It's usually more competitive than Deloitte, and you get placed into Deloitte S&O anyway.
I'd be interested to hear what people think about this.
1) Deloitte S&O does offer summer internships. For undergrad, it is pretty competitive. Maybe more so than Monitor. In the summer of 2012, they had 45 undergrad interns.
2) As for 2013 Monitor Internships, it's rumored that Deloitte will just honor internship offers. They did it last year with a small human capital firm.
As said above, S&O offers internships that aren't just more competitive than their FT recruiting, but in my experience I didn't even get a S&O internship first round interview (whereas I did with Bain and BCG).
As for applying to Monitor, you have nothing to lose - who wouldn't two chances over one? An internship offer with Monitor will be honored, whether through Monitor or Deloitte
