I find it funny that someone who considers Biochemistry a 'wishy washy' major would want to work in consulting, so I'm leaning toward the "not sure if srs" camp.
That said, assuming you're serious, I would recommend doing something interesting. Study abroad in South America or Asia. Learn broken Portuguese and have sex with a Brazilian girl. Get really good at golf. For consulting interviews, these things are going to matter more than whether or not you decide to major in Biochem or Biophysics.
i guarantee you most people you interview with in finance or consulting will have no fucking clue what a biochem or biophysics major does or does not require of you analytically. they'll assume you're smart. or a huge nerd. or both!
Remember, once you're inside you're on your own.
Oh, you mean I can't count on you?
No.
Good!
Here's the thing, you're probably very smart. In fact, you're probably too smart for the average consultant. What you need to work on is coming across confident, interesting and not a nerd.
I agree with the recommendation for studying aboard or learning a hobby. You can also start a side venture or volunteer. The gains from being smarter (biophysics vs biochem) are decreasing but the gains from learning soft skills (leadership/social shit) have not.
