I studied the same program at LSE, got invited to interviews at all major consulting firms and also received an offer from one of the MBB's. So the program will definitely open lots of doors to you.

One thing to note though is that quite a few of the students that I studied with had been working in IT roles before. So naturally, they were more focused on IT consultancies than on the strategic ones.

To answer your question about the tech practices at MBB: There is quite a big difference about how this is implemented. McK for example has the BTO, which is a separate office with a strong focus on certain topics (similar to the operations office). Everything else is regarded very similar to the general track (pay, career path, etc.). BCG on the other hand founded a separate company dealing with IT topics: Platinion. As far as I know it is positioned as an elite IT consultancy. Pay and prestige are lower than at normal BCG.
