Wrong Transcript, What Should I Do?
My school's OCR deadline was Monday night for most of the larger consulting firms. I was getting ready for next week's submissions today when I saw that, while my resume and cover letters were correct, my transcript from the end of Junior Fall was submitted. I've already contacted the OCR office, and they say that there is nothing they could do on their end. Thank you in advance for your advice.
There really isn't anything that you can do. But if it's brought up you better have a really good excuse and have your current up to date transcript with you if you get an interview just for the off chance they want it.
Your transcript is the last thing they're going to look at--and nobody except HR even sees that. Don't fret.
Is your GPA on the resume right? And is your current transcript "better" than the one you submitted? If so, you are fine. Take a copy of the right one with you just in case, and maybe bring it up to HR if if you are asked to come in for a final round.
Do the consultants/resume readers really not see the transcript. If I am selected for an interview, when would they pull my transcript?
I can't really speak to that, but my resume was as out-of-date as yours for every interview process I went through (decent amount) and I didn't get a single question about it.
Consultants and recruiters most certainly see the transcript. The real question is, in going through a stack of applicants, will they notice that a transcript is one semester older than it could have been? Hard to say.
NYC, how do you know this? I'm absolutely not doubting the veracity of your comment, I'm just asking to know when in the process it is found. I'm worried that I'll be an auto-ding for all of the firms for which I have applied. Is there any one on right know who has been a consultant and knows when the resumes are pulled?
