Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was emailed about an interview in the spring semester of my senior year. This was an off-cycle interview and obtained through networking.

The first step was a phone interview with a senior analyst. He asked me some basic questions about finance (e.g. - explain DCF valuation) and about my background. This lasted about 20 minutes and was more of a pre-screening. At the end of the call he asked me to come in for an in-person interview.

When I came in for the in-person interview, I was interviewed by nearly the whole group, about 20 people. Interview were 1-on-1 or 2-on-1, and about 15-20 minutes each. Each interview was different, some more technical and some more personal. Overall I went through all the basics including:

-Walk through resume, past experience, etc.
-Explain current events and how they affect the industry
-Brain teasers / math problems
-Questions about specific financial concepts
-Strengths / weaknesses
-Tell me about a time when...
-Personal questions

After about 4 hours I was told the MD of the group wanted to meet with me but was tied up, and was asked to grab a cup of coffee and come back in an hour or so. I came back but the MD was still tied up so the senior analyst I originally spoke to on the phone asked me if I wanted to grab a beer (it was late in the day). He told me that I did well and gave me a verbal offer. A few days later I received an official offer from HR and accepted.
