Women's attire for hot weather
First real finance internship. Just went through all my clothes and only found very few pieces that I might be able to wear. Which means I have to go shopping for clothes (I imagine you're not allowed to repeat what you wear within a month). I am a bit clueless when it comes to fashion. Any suggestions in terms of type of shirts/dresses/pants/skirts, and also any particular brands you would recommend? Also, how much skin is too much? Are sleeveless shirts and shorter dresses (2-3 inches above knee) be fine? Thanks in advance!
I love women in Joie and Peruvian Connection but that is seldom if ever for the workplace.
For work look into: Tahari, Eileen Fisher, Diane von Furstenberg, Kate Spade, Lafayette 148, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Anne Klein, Pringle of Scotland etc.. There are a lot more brands but you shouldn't be dropping that kind of cash at this stage in your career.

I have a bunch of different sleeveless tops that I pair with different blazers, and either a skirt or pants. I like it because it's easy to mix things up and because I can take off the blazer when it's too hot, keep it on the back of my chair, etc. For affordable but nice, I like Banana Republic (esp. their pants and blazers). My favorite blazer is from Theory. You can get cheap tops on sale from Banana Republic, but also take a look at Express, NY&C, The Limited, J.Crew, etc... plenty of options!
(Also, re: what you said about not repeating what you wear within a month... I think that's excessive. I repeat outfits within a 1.5-2 week window, as do most of the women in my office, as far as I can tell. You definitely don't need 30 entirely different outfits. Nobody really cares/pays attention to what you wear, as long as you look professional. Especially as an intern.)

You definitely ARE allowed to repeat outfits within a month. Just don't wear the same thing within a 2-week period.
I work in NYC where it gets quite toasty in the summer. I feel bad for the guys who are walking around in 90 degree heat in a full on suit. In the summer months, I stick to a pencil skirt, silk tank, and I carry around a blazer that I put on once I enter my building. It's fine for the skirt to be up to 2 inches above your knees, MAYBE 3 inches, but anything shorter would be risky. In terms of brands, below are my recommendations:
Theory - great staple pieces: blouses, pants, blazers, skirts
Michael Kors - great sheath and wrap dresses. They have a few sub-brands that are super affordable
Brooks Brothers - I prefer blouses over dress shirts (they're a lot softer and less likely to wrinkle) but if I do wear dress shirts, it's usually BB's non-iron shirts
Classiques Entier - it's a Nordstrom brand and has a great line of blazers
Ann Taylor/Loft - super affordable, office-appropriate pieces. I'm pretty petite and have a hard time finding pencil skirts that are fitted enough at the knees. Loft is one of the few places where I've found skirts that fit well.
Hugo Boss - high quality blazers and silk tanks
Helmut Lang - most of their stuff is a little too fashion forward to be appropriate in a finance workplace, but it's great if you're looking for a statement blazer or a simple pair of black pants
A lot of people love DVF, but I think they do a ton of vanity sizing so I can't find anything that I don't drown in. I also never had much luck at J Crew/Banana Republic, but they're worth taking a look at.
In terms of shoes, I generally stick to Tory Burch flats and Nine West pumps. I usually wear flats on the way to work and change to heels once I get into the office.

You could try jeans and shirts to be safe with your style and fashion. Short shirts doesn't suit many, probably if you are quite obese. Instead go with dresses that can give you comfort while you are in it.

I can't give much fashion advices, but you're definitely allowed to repeat within a month.
Personally, I think 2-week is optimal, 1-week is tolerable.

For summers, specially I check the fabric quality which reflect the heat from the sun and adsorb the sweat.
CHOOSE LIGHT CLOTHING. ALWAYS CHOOSE SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE ON A HOT DAY. STAY HYDRATED AS WELL!
For hot weather the attire could not be suit, or could be accepted as suit some white dress, casual shirt...
