Clean, minimalistic watch
Hi
I'm looking for a minimalistic watch face with a strap. I've been looking at Junghans - what do people think of this? I like the clean style and it must be under 1000.

Watches are purely a matter of individual preference, so you'll get nothing out of hearing others' opinions. Just get whatever you like and wear it with confidence and you'll be fine.
For what little it's worth, I'm not a fan of the baushaus (sp) style.
You'd probably get far better answers on a place like styleforum rather than WSO...I'm sure you can judge what's professional or not based on what you see there/elsewhere.
Check out Citizen, very minimalist and affordable.
Agreed on this (though not sure if they are considered "good") also think Hamilton makes some nice ones as well
I want that
This watch is actually really nice looking. At 38mm it's a bit small for nowadays. That model is also a 2014 Basel World special release by the looks of it, so I'd be surprised if you could scoop it easily and on the cheap.
IMO there's a huge dead spot in the watch market b/w $500 and ~$2000. In there you're overpaying for a really cheap watch dressed up like an Omega. Just buy a knockoff Seamaster or Daytona =P
Go on TimeZone Sales Corner and see goes for what, and what strikes your fancy.
Hamilton is nice and clean, I second it.
Consider Maurice Lacroix, great watches, and less common here in the US. Something like this one would fit the bill: http://www.mauricelacroix.com/Watch/Entry/Collection/les_classiques-5/I…
Daniel Wellington's are nice and
Longines la grande classique
Whats the point of buying a watch under $1000? I just can't understand people that get excited for, and enjoy discussing, watches that have shitty ETA movements. If you're paying less than 5k for a watch, i.e a watch that does not have an in house movement, you might as well go and buy a Chinese knock off because there is really no difference in substance. That because the lower end watch market is analog to today's market for PCs. When you buy a Lenovo or a Dell your buying the same shit in a different package (Apple would be an exception).
I love when people call themselves watch snobs and then go on to comment on stupid shit like the case size and strap. That is how you can tell someone does not know shit about watches.
I'm tired of tasteless fucks that read GQ.
@yourboss'sboss The point of buying a watch under 1000? What an ass, you are lame.
I personally like the Frederic Constant Classic Index ( http://www.frederique-constant.com/watch-finder/classics/classics-index… ), new house but high quality mechanisms. Very good price/quality and in your price range.
I don't know, maybe to see what time it is? Be more douchy.
That right! I forgot it's the mid 19th century, and there exists no ubiquitous technology that has made determining the time an effortless task at any given place or moment.
You dumb shit
I get where you are coming from, I do. But you can find the odd gem for well under 5k if you dig around, yes with an in-house movement. for example http://www.christopherward.com/c9-cosc-5d-swkr.html
to OP check out christopher ward if you're still looking, you can get a quartz watch on there that looks the same but is a few hundred
Check out Leonard and Church. Upstart brand with a very nice collection.

Go with Longines and Hamilton
Check out Bering Watches, and most are
