Choice of cologne?
What is your choice of cologne?
I personally fancy Jo malone blackberry & bay with a note of Oud & Bergamot.
I know jo malone is unisex product but i dont see many men wearing it. is it gay for a guy to sport that shit?

I don't know the brand but who cares. When going out I actually like using sweeter colognes like paco rabbane black xs and diesel black potion. The occasional times my friends smell it on me they riff, but I've received the most compliments from girls with these colognes. It's not what you like, it's what females will like.
Totally agree here. Every time i need a new bottle i just ask the girls at the counter what they like best. Right now that is YSL L'Homme
it's a nice one
I have the same and love it (as does my better half)
I haven't smelled the Jo Malone one but you're probably fine - the base is cedar which is pretty masculine. Looking at the profile I think I want to give it a whiff next time I'm near a retailer.
I'm a woman but have always gravitated towards men's colognes. I figure that your fragrance is a very personal thing - you should pick something that makes you happy. I usually wear Spicebomb but will also wear Valentino's Uomo in the summer since it's a little sweeter.
I highly recommend Jo Malone's blackberry & bay and Woodsage & Seasalt. I tend to find more women sporting Jo malones then men. Their candles are awesome too, but wayyyy over priced out of my budget.
If you think it's gay, it's probably because it is. have you tried exploring your sexuality before? :)
but in a more serious response, i do like banana republic's wild blue cologne for the spring/summer.
I'm a woman and frankly go with Polo it smells amazing. Really any cologne though makes me super attracted to a guy so just wear it.
If you are worried about it making you seem gay, you probably are! Come out of the closet and enjoy all the hot guys here in NY.
Coach. It conjures up the same idea as Polo, but its noticeably different. More of a leather than cigar kinda scent
Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio -- despite the scent going away in like 2 hours. Terrible.... other than that, the smell is good.
Try Acqua Di Gio Profumo, better performance and almost the same scent.
Old Spice deodorant. $7 at Walmart ($6.50 with coupon).
I like my cologne to be about the same price as my haircuts.
I expected more from you... IlliniProgrammer
whoever MS'd him is a virgin. I've gotten more compliments from old spice and after shave than I ever did from cologne.
keep on keepin on IP.
also if you buy cologne, do either one spray on the wrist and rub on your neck or one spray on the chest. THATS IT, no more.
when they smell you, someone should think "hey, that bro smells nice" not "hey, that bro smells like he just ate a salad with polo blue as the dressing"
polo blue as the dressing comment made me lol
Old spice deodorant and body wash ftw. I use stetson from walmart as my after shave though.
IlliniProgrammer I'm surprised you don't cut your own hair.
This. Any more than 1 spritz they will think you work at the duty free store at the airport.
1 spritz of Tommy Bahama
Would you recommend wearing a Tommy Bahama shirt while wearing the cologne?
Le Labo has some godly perfumes
Creed Aventus (my go-to) L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme
I've often debated buying Creed. I just can't seem to justify it without testing it first. I was wondering if it would appear on this list. This alone gives me some justification.
Creed is worth it.
Grab her by D'Issey
Two bottle of Tom Ford: Costa Azzurra (light and fresh) and Oud Wood (manly as fuck).
Versace Pour Homme undoubtedly.
What razor do you guys use to shave? I use a schick hydro 5 but I think it would be badass to use a straight razor blade. Probably going to try walmart's brand that looks like the gilette fusion.
Are you referring to a safety razor or a straight blade like Sweeney Todd? If safety razor, i know there is a bit of an adjustment period and then it's pretty easy (plus replacement blades are like $0.10). Would not recommend a straight blade, there is a reason barbers need special certification to give straight blade shaves.
Straight blade. Safety razors aren't bad but a straight blade looks awesome and like a butterknife. Reminds me of old-school golf clubs. You definitely can't lose focus with a straight blade since it's basically like holding a knife. The walmart part was their generic version of the fusion proglide.
Mrs Jackstraw got me the same Jo Malone for Christmas and I like it. If a woman buys it for you, it's definitely not gay. I also like Chanel Bleu, very subtle scent.
Eau Sauvage by Dior or Terre d'Hermes. Both get me loads of compliments.
Also nothing gay about Jo Malone- their Amber and Lavender is top-notch, I got the body wash for Christmas, love it.
I catch a wild muskrat, express it's anal glands, and dab a bit on my wrists and neck. When women smell it, it produces the hormone insatia, which makes women ovulate.
I dont care how tarnished the parent brand has become, but Abercrombie fierce is awesome.
For sure! I have a bottle, as well as the new fierce confidence - great scent as well!
Tom Ford - Oud Wood & Creed - Green Irish Tweed
I keep Acqua di Parma - Colonia in my gym bag
Can't go wrong with Bleu de Chanel
That's a good one
Old school - Drakkar Noir. I only use a little.
Polo - Blue Sport Polo - Black YSL - l'homme
...and Drakkar Noir for the fuckin haters.
Polo Double Black has always been my go to
Jimmy Choo Man.
However, please don't be this guy in this office...Every office has one...
Im in my early 30s and Creed vetiver is my go to and Jo Malone Sea Salt is in my travel bag. Both cost a little more and very light but good scent
Sauvage. The name itself was too enticing
Armani Code FTW. IDK about old spice, reminds me of old men..... I take Axe over Old Spice all day
Sex Panther by Odeon. 60% of the time, it works every time.
I hate all of you for this thread.
Why is the date " 1/9/17 - 1:00am" for OP, but dates of the posts within this thread range from April 2016 to the present?
I think the date is updated if one edits a post/topic
While I do like these expensive colognes at times... for me the best is Pinaud-Clubman. Women tell me they love it and smells very masculine. However its important to find the cologne that best fits your body chemistry. Everybody has different skin and chemistry for some a cologne might be a perfect fit but for others not. Go a store and ask to smell different colognes with various notes sweet, musty, etc. Important is to ask for coffeee beans after testing each cologne.
Terre d'Hermes. Get so many compliments on it and it is not very common which makes it distinct.
Confirmed - my new gf loves my blackberry bay from Jo Malone.
Commes des Garcons 2 Acqua di Parma - Colonia Club Tom Ford - Neroli Portofino
don't you think Neroli Portofino is almost impossible to be scented by other people? I got lots of compliments from a girl when she was close enough to feel it, but as it's so light usually goes unnoticeable...
all good choices btw
Much like the AdP - CC, the Neroli Portofino is very light and fresh - so won't be one that people catch just from walking past you on the street, but I think that it does linger. It's so light you get accustomed to it very quickly so don't realise, I thought the same but my partner told me she could smell it even after a few hours.
Sorry for the delayed response btw. Haven't logged in until now.
Chanel Platinum Egoiste - 1 spray on the left wrist and 1 on the right side of my neck, then rub both wrists together and likewise on your neck (gently).
I never over-apply, just enough so that when you make close contact (i.e., give a girl a casual hug in greeting), the person on the receiving end is blessed with the slightest whiff of the best smelling cologne one could purchase.
An extremely clean and refreshing scent. Bought my 1st bottle in '08 and have never turned to another product. I've received countless compliments on this product over the years, but never share the name with those who ask. Consider this my free gift to the WSO community.
This reads like a Patrick Bateman quote. I had to google it to be sure it wasn't.
Totally agree here
Dior Sauvage. I have not gotten sick of this and have received many compliments on it. You have to try this one out!
I personally like that scent and you're right Jo Malone is unisex so go and explore they have so many scents to choose from :)
Versace Man Eau Fraîche Versace Pour Homme Chanel Bleu De Chanel Chanel Allure Homme Sport Dior Sauvage Gucci Guilty
There are also some Burberry and Jimmy Choo colognes I enjoy. I just can't recall which specifically. I'd still recommend checking them out.
If it wasn't worn by so many others I'd place Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Giò on this list.
Definitely agree on Versace Pour Homme
English Leather.
when i ran track back in college, tommy cologne would give me a compliment from every female member of the track team and even some dudes
bond no 9
Whatever you do, please for the love of god use 1/6th of whatever it is you think you should use.
Tom Ford Oud
Burberry Brit Rhythm
Favorite scent
Don't think you can go wrong with Versace Eros either
Wet dog is always a go to
Or smelly garbage, usually gets the job done
No, and honestly most of the best/most popular fragrances can be unisex.
Jo Malone has great scents, my only problem is that they don't last all day.
