Second, with white or light blue shirt. Though a darker navy would work just as fine.
blue is nice, ballsy tie for an interview.
Like the blue better but would opt for the first with your charcoal suit. Depends on the shade of the suit. Would opt for white shirt either way.
No offense, but I am extremely amazed that people (believe me, you're not the only one) are that concerned over their appearance. Both of those ties are "plain" in the sense that they likely won't catch anyone's attention in a negative way, unless you're applying for a fashion designer. As long as you're not wearing wacky or old-fashioned ties (you know those patterns), I don't think the interview is going to look twice at your tie.
Not sure if playing to the Hermes tie on a non MD joke or not. If you aren't, I'd say blue.
Definitely go with the blue tie. I think you will have a better time matching the blue tie with other outfits as well.
