Too country club in my opinion but whatever - for the right occasion should be fine. If you're an analyst, your dress should be clean, respectable, but demure. Nothing to scream for attention in a meeting. I can't say enough about a nice clean cut tailored suit. Ill fitting clothes are just awful

How big are the dots? Furthermore, how big - and numerous, possibly - do dots have to be considered polka dots? Discretely dotted ties such as navy/burgundy with small white dots can be really nice.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to your VP & MD's favorite color. Also be sure to check what their favorite sports teams are. You do not want to wear the Redskins colors if they are a Cowboys fan and vice versa. This is critical to moving up the ladder. Also check the Goldman Sachs's HR policy on dotted ties. You do not want to be sent home from work for incorrect width of tie or quantity of dots. Attention to detail is important
