What color tie goes with navy suit?
I've got an interview coming up. I've got a navy suit and a white shirt. What color tie do I go with?
What Color Tie Should I Wear with A Navy Suit?
Picking a tie color can be quite hard given the wide variety of colors, patterns, and styles there are to choose from. However, the WSO community has come together to bring you a quick set of guidelines! Typically, any dark color such as red, blue, gray, or black would be a safe and conservative choice.
User @EnergyHOU", a sales and trading analyst, brings forward a good point about pairing colors:
Pair shirt to suit, tie to shirt. In this case, navy suit > white shirt > some lighter shade of blue tie OR darker red (not bright red)
A conservative tie in a non-navy blue/ a dark shade of red always does the trick. Discrete patterns if any.
You can see an example of this look below.

Navy suit white shirt blue/red tie brown shoes
Almost anything, stay away from flashy colors and patterns and you should be good. I like solid forest green, reds patterned with other colors, violet, maroon, and pink with navy suits.
Note that you should opt to pair your tie to your shirt, not the suit. Pair shirt to suit, tie to shirt.
In this case, navy suit > white shirt > some lighter shade of blue tie OR darker red (not bright red)
Yellow is the most outstanding color to go with navy. :). Be honest.
I personally love blue ties and blue suits. carolina blue, darker/lighter navy, teal, aqua, whatever. also purple, gold, red, orange. you really can't go wrong
Any color. I highly recommend some of the greens (skip the neon). And as Brofessor said, all the blues.
Merlot is a great color to pair with a navy suit.
A conservative tie in a non-navy blue/ a dark shade of red always does the trick. Discrete patterns if any.
Or follow this infallible guide!
I'd recommend to choose the color of the tie according to the role and your personality not to select it to go well with the color of your suit.
Light yellow or light blue, white shirt, navy suit, cognac shoes/belt
An interview is a formal affair, and always necessitates black shoes. Preferably, lace up brogues.
