Need to stock up on dress shirts - brand?
Hey WSO-
I'm looking to refresh my wardrobe with the basics. Ideally I'm looking for maybe a dozen new dress shirts. Nothing too flashy, just classic blue or white shirts. Anyone have suggestions of the best value/quality here? For reference, I've typically been a j crew slim fit guy, just looking for something marginally nicer that might last a bit longer.
Thanks
A huge fan of suit supply. Unsure of what you're looking to spend, basics run $80-100, but fantastic quality.
Nordstrom makes a pretty decent dress shirt.
A lot of analysts I've met like Charles Tyrwhitt. I wear T.M. Lewin myself, and they're alright.
Second Charles Thyrwhitt (ctshirts.com), they make decent quality shirts that looks good and are durable. 4 shirts for $200, but can usually get better deals as they run specials alot.
I wear their extra slim fit and it essentially fits me as well as a MTM shirt, but half the cost.
Third for Charles Tyrwhitt. They've changed their sizing in the past couple years, which is annoying, but they're still solid and attractive shirts.
Brooks Brothers are also go-to's if you're lucky enough to find the few with attractive collars and no pockets. Superior quality, inferior selection to CT.
Charles Tyrwhitt as several others have mentioned is a favorite among folks. It's very good quality and doesn't have the boxy silhouette prevalent in many of the department store brands. Within the department store brands you really can't go wrong with half a dozen calvin klein slim fit white dress shirts when they're on sale (generally around the holidays and summer). I tend to hoard dress shirts at this time ;P
If you are a fan of made to measure, Oliver Wicks has always been a favorite of mine. I've had two suits and a few shirts made by them and the quality was surprisingly very good for an online MTM retailer.
Brooks brothers, every summer they have great deals. I always stock up on 12 shirts, (4 at 50%).
Has anyone tried mTailor? I've been wanting to test them out... there is an app, you just take pics and they send you the stuff in the mail -
They had serious production problems early on. Not sure whether they've fully addressed at this point. https://www.inc.com/anna-hensel/mark-cuban-mtailor-founder-too-arrogant…
I’m a big fan of Bonobos. Usually 3 for $225. I’ve had shirts from a lot of other brands and they all end up wearing out/ripping sooner than I’d like. Happened to me with Brooks Brothers, Hugo Boss, Banana Republic, and J.Crew.
Nordstrom Rack.
But even when I buy my shirts from Macy's or JCPenney, I'll look (and probably am) twice as valuable as you guys in your pretentious, $120 dress shirts.
Please feel free to take offense.
The key starting point is building a list of brands that fit your body, which is much less likely with brands like Banana Republic or J. Crew that go with S/M/L sizing that simplifies their inventory management, but compromises fit for most guys.
Apparel retail has become incredibly promotional, so there's something on sale at all times if you know where to look. If you're interested in a simple way to find brands that fit your body and your budget, send me a direct message.

Name me a few good ones to consider. I'm 16 and an entrepreneur.
Why did my other thread get 40 comments in 5 minutes and this gets nothing? Dress shirt brands please, help a future CEO out.

You're not an entrepreneur, you're a high school student. Wear Brooks Brothers/Tyrwhitt/Boss in any case.
I operate a lemonade stand in front of my house, I'm an entrepreneur.
Is Club Monaco good? I have a few dress shirts from them and they seem like good quality.
askandyaboutclothes.com
as a warning they are VERY traditionally dressed (to the point of calling brooks brothers too trendy) but they are a great intro to clothing.
a couple of pointers 1. higher price does not mean higher quality 2. how well a shirt fits is the most important aspect. after that think about style, quality, color, cloth, etc. brands are a good proxy for style (e.g. brooks brothers and thomas pink are different in style) or quality but not perfect, so look around. dont limit yourself to certain brands
EDIT:I can't believe I just gave advice to a troll
You're a fucking queer dude get a life and get off this site. Fuck you.
Troll is successful.
Is Club Monaco a good brand?

where the fuck do you see trolling in there?
Never understood the point in trolling. Craving attention they don't get in their actual life? I guess so eh. Sad really.
I'm the only one who wears dress shirts at my school you think I don't get attention?
