I'm currently wearing something similar and yes no problem at the office. I wear brown shoes more frequently than black one..since I do not wear black suit that often..unless at black tie event.. else I usually wear gray or navy suits which I think looks better with brown/tan shoes.

Some advice I got is that brown dress shoes should not be worn with suits at formal investment banks. Fine for going out/clubbing, but not banking.

It's a stupid rule—but I've heard some people will judge you for wearing brown shoes in an interview. Not worth the risk.

 

I've heard this same advice, yet I've met bankers that dress like they're editors at GQ (in a peacocking, flashy, unsubtle, and unprofessional way).

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker.
