I would think "Islam, the White House, and the "Counter-Jihadist movement" should have the answer to your question
Budget per shirt would help narrow this down further, but Charles Tyrwhitt has some good slim shirts in the mid-price-range.
Took your word on this
tm lewin super slim fit are way better than ct extra slim, you can get them for about $30 each when theres a sale. The ct extra slims look like parachutes on me, but the tm lewins are nearly a perfect fit. If you want to spend more ($90 per shirt) I have good experiences with kamakura shirts as well.
Thanks, I'll check them out. Last time I tried TM Lewin a few years ago they were like parachutes too.
I'm looking to spend up to ~$50 per shirt give or take. Not $90 per shirt.
I think the super slim fit is a new thing for them, if they didn't make them I would be stuck with either all kamakura or all custom
Life starts at $90, anything less is for 3rd worlders
Second TM Lewin Super Slim Fit! I'm tall and lean, and those shirts look wondrous on me. Highly recommend. Can get like...4 of those of $200.
However, would recommend Kamakura Shirts also - best shirt for under $100.
TM Lewin sleeves were too short. I do not recommend.
Will stick with Charles Tyrwhitt even though they are less fitted.
The key to getting a great fit is finding the right match: TML sleeves are too short for you but potentially perfect for the next guy, who may appreciate their Super Fitted cut. If anyone is interested, I've actually done the math on ~20 brands and would be happy to share.
Are you in a role that requires a suit, or can you do without? I'm in a highly technical role in AM with a half dozen letters after my name, and the most basic white shirt and a tie under a nice Banana Republic sweater is my go-to for 3+ days a week. The shirts are $15 and last a good year in the rotation before needing to be junked, and the sweaters last several years. As an added bonus, it cuts down on my dry cleaning bills a lot, as I can just throw them in the laundry and press the collar.
These strategies largely finance my sports car addiction.
you wear sweaters all year round? Where do you work that you don't excessively sweat?
I wear them for 7-8 months per year. Generally October to April. I'm in the Northeast US. During the rest of the year I try to take as much vacation as possible, and strongly endorse company branded polos on Fridays. Working from home when possible during the summer also helps.
Also, remember that I'm not sales. I can get away being a bit more casual a lot of the time. I view the frumpy professor outfit as having benefits, although It's getting tough now that 80% of my department are Charterholders.
Indochino has great custom made shirts and suits from my experience. Been reading a ton about it on WSO too.
Here's a $50 discount
$50 DISCOUNT
I would back that any day. Indochino is cheap and quality with a great fit. I would take them over most other brands for shirts and suits.
Bonobos is really good
Anyone tried Twillory? They look good.

Love the app-based approach, but what's your experience with fabric and construction quality?
Affordable...If u r in the Uk i suggest TKMAXX, an outlet that has everything at super reduced price. I do not wear much white shirts if not a basic Oxford white shirt, you can buy pretty much everywhere. I have a cheap one from H&M and a better one from Kenneth Cole, if i don't mistake.
Brooks Brothers on sale - great deal, amazing quality. Depending on your body type, might still need to taper sides and put darts.
Charles Tyrwhitt. Only buy them when they're on sale (at which point they can go for as low as $29.50 / shirt for 3 shirts, but anything under $35 / shirt is good). The quality is better than anything else I've seen at that price point. Their extra slim fit looks good if you're skinny or in-shape. Also at ~$30-35 / shirt, I really don't have to worry about the inevitable wear-and-tare.
If you are not looking for a super slim fit, I would recommend Tailorbyrd. Decent quality for the price and super comfy.
Id agree with those saying TMLewin/ CT for budget and decent quality - but I'd only decide based on which fits you best. I have shirts from both and CT fits me so much better, but I bought my first few suits from TM because they fit me better (didn't require as much tailoring). Marks and Spencers if in UK, Thomas Pink etc are my next step up.. not quite there yet
ETON. (lookup ETON shirts)
Because I'm tall and lean, I always had to get my shirts tailored, until I tried ETON. Their fabric is fantastic, the cut is great, and the price is reasonable.
Looked up Eton - are you nuts???? Starts at $245 per
Look hard enough you'll find them on sale for $110 - $150. Well worth it.
Brooks brothers or you'll look like a loser
If you hang with a crowd that actually looks for the signature Brooks Brothers "6-Pleat Shirring" maybe, but I'm guessing very few will notice. Make sure you find something that fits you well, made of high-quality fabric.
As others have mentioned, the Tyrwhitt/Lewin offer aggressive sale pricing for quality goods, including better fits from trim waists than Brooks Brothers Milano. I've also been impressed with Amazon's new Button Down private label brand, which uses the same American-grown Supima long-staple cotton as Brooks Brothers.
sick
the Brooks Brothers white Egyptian cotton shirts are amazing for the Summer.
I'm also a fan of extra-long-staple Egyptian and Pima cotton. Charles Tyrwhitt usually has something in Egyptian cotton on promotion, and Amazon's private label Buttoned Down brand uses the same Supima cotton as Brooks Brothers, at ~half the price.
Eton. They look great, last forever, and fit perfectly.
Fit is highly personal: a great fit for a marathon runner will be unwearable for someone who lifts weights. Custom works for guys who have the budget and patience to go through the process, but there are off-the-rack options that work well for 90% of guys.
Finding the right match is a job for Man + Machine: 1) the Man teaches the Machine about his key measurements (height, weight, collar, sleeve length, jacket size) 2) the Machine compares these measurements with hundreds of off-the-rack sizes and returns a personalized list of brands that will fit the Man well 3) the Machine searches the online marketplace for items available today that will fit the Man, and returns a curated shortlist of the best options 4) the Man orders online from the curated shortlist, and then decides how best to spend the hours he saved vs. a trip to the store.
I go with:
Brooks Brothers or CT for the road or if you dont want to iron.
Custom for a perfect fit.

Twillory without a doubt is the absolute best. I own CT and brooks and like twillory more. $54 each when you do orders of 4 or more, no shipping or tax. Perfectly slimming, super soft, adjustable wrist buttongs (unlike CT ugh), spread collar. Great.
For my body type, the Brooks Brothers Milano fit could not fit any better. I would say they fit about 98% as good as a custom shirt would for me. If you buy them at the right time, you can land 4 shirts for about $160-175 including shipping.
CT has nice shirts, and I would recommend them for some, but the extra slim was way too slim for me (I am 6'4" 220) and the slim is billowy on the sides for me. Also, because of my height, if the shirts aren't cut long enough, they come untucked. Not a problem with the BB Milano.
If you like Milano, you might also like T.M. Lewin Fitted, which has the same chest measurement but has a 2.5" trimmer waist. Thomas Pink Athletic fit has the same waist as T.M. Lewin Fitted, with 0.5" more room through the chest.
You might also like Bonobos Standard, which is 0.5" trimmer through the chest than Milano.
Dude you are the man. Thank you.
There is the variety of white shop which differs from its different fabric. Most people use white shirt at interview it looks more professional. The white shirt of cotton fabric looks elegant.
The best White shirt: 1) fits the way you want 2) has fabric and details that look the way you want 3) gives you good value for money
If you're in an illiquid market where you're buying from 1-2 brands, you shouldn't expect to get good value for money.
Unless you're shaped like Tyrian Lannister or Hodor, there are multiple brands that fit like your current favorite. There's actually a very efficient way to find them.
Zilli
Tommy Hilfiger athletic fit. You can get em on sale for 35/shirt or so.
You can do even better than that at Rack, if you're lucky enough to find your size. Tommy Hilfiger White Buttoned Down $24.98
Nice!
.
Bonobos (Jetsetter) and Proper Cloth are both great.
Look for the ones with bamboo cotton. Always the best quality
Get the collection of best white shirts of good brand and in affordable range at gents garment shops in Amravati
I personally prefer "The Tie Bar" shirts, Trim fit. They fit great and seem a notch above CT/TM quality. Also, if you buy 3 at a time you get them down to about $45 per shirt.
H&M. Just make sure it's cotton.
If you never wear a tie and always roll up your sleeves H&M of Uniqlo can be fine choices. If jacket & tie plays a role in your dress code, only the lucky few will get the right collar and sleeve length from S/M/L sizing. Most others will get better fit from a brand that offers collars to the nearest 1/2" and sleeves to the nearest 1"
