I would say really try to get an internship... work with your dad, wtv.. Do something that you will actually teach you something.

Possibly stay in summer school to jack up the credits and boost your gpa. Make sure you have your resume set and all cover letters are ready to go when you walk in day one of junior year. Use your career services for edits and fixes.

Build an action plan spreadsheet with recruiters numbers, cold calling list, company specific details and come up with various ways to keep your time productive and value added. I interned for the big 4 during my sophomore year end summer and was a hot shot in the recruiting season. That unfortunately not a good plan for you cause big4 are done recruiting.

Work with a professor on something value added and where you can really take a way something of material to talk about in interviews.

If you have literally nothing to do, teach yourself something, over my winter break in my sophomore year i taught myself to be a professional web designer which has become an incredible weapon, especially if I open my own boutique, or work for others. Web Design is like one of those things that not everyone can do and doesnt involve too much stress.

Ways to get a internship: 1) search cities craigslist.org for business and finance - guys who use that will hire within DAYS. then cold call their asses to make sure you show interest and energy for the job.

2)Link the shit out of Linked IN.

3) Use your school's alumni networks! those are like gold mines!

4) work with professors to get your positioned in the right place.

Message me for more info or direction if you need it, i do this for my friends on a regular basis.

I am currently looking for a summer internship as a sophomore student. I absolutely had done nothing during the summer after freshman year (I just changed my major from CS to Finance/Accounting). I'm slightly confused as to what summer internships I should look for as a sophomore student. Since I am a sophomore, what types of summer internships should I look for?

I'm not exactly sure what "rising junior" and "rising senior" means. Does "rising junior" mean summer after junior or summer before junior?
