Honestly any color is okay with a navy suit. A nice dark blue, maroon, or dark green looks good. Just I personally don't like anything other than a plain color tie with a very subtle pattern on it. Striped or dotted ties look really outdated and draw unnecessary attention. Go to Saks Off Fifth for a nice tie without paying more than $50.

The Tie Bar is great for inexpensive, quality ties.

For an interview, boring is best. Stick to dark red or blue - either solid or with a very subtle pattern. The conventional wisdom: you want them to look at your face, not your tie.

I'm here with the others. The classic version always works best. Especially, when you don't know what to wear. Additionally, choosing a tie for a navy suit is very simple as navy goes almost with everything. I do see, however, the struggle here when anything looks good. This makes the decision even worse and harder.

Anyway, did you choose your tie? Which one did you take in the end?
