Hey OverpaidOverworked, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I am sad to say, but this thread is lonely, so thought I'd post in here to try and help out. Some potential topics that might help:
You're welcome.
Wanted to try to get this thread going, seems like not a lot of 2020 SA information specific to Houston going around WSO.
Does anyone know for sure if any banks have had superdays yet? Seems like a lot are looking at late July / August timelines.
Citi is completely done, Evercore opens July 1 and TPH is going in August
Any hope for rising sophomore applicants (class of 2022) for Houston at Evercore or TPH? Or other BB/MM since Houston isn't most peoples' first choice (NYC or CHI)
Curious about what your source is. Citi can't be completely done
You sure about this? Because I was speaking with an MD a while ago and was told they are recruiting mainly in late July - mid August. Unless that's for non-targets (my school doesn't send anyone to Houston)
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Houston recruiting for core schools (UT, SMU and Rice) in Texas haven't started since banks are mostly following the UT recruiting timeline (August). Would appreciate any additional info.
Yes^. 99% of Houston recruiting starts in August and ends right around when school starts. Citi told us at our info session they would also follow this timeline.
I can add on to that. Went to a Moelis event and they said they will interview on-campus at SMU in August for the Houston office
So this is a problem with the WSO audience. Within a thread, posters claiming emphatically that recruiting is "Done", "heard it from an MD..." while others emphatically stating they were told by the firm that it doesn't even start to August. Then there's the whole target vs. non target, Texas vs. non Texas.
Can't all be right. Kids read this crap and freak out.
I would take everything you read on WSO with a grain of salt. Many have an agenda.
The vast majority of Houston banks are definitely not done with recruiting. From what I have heard most of them have hardly started
Bump.
Does anyone have any insight into Summer Associate recruiting? It's probably too early to tell, but thought I'd ask anyway.
Bump. I know some stuff has been kicking off, anyone else hearing stuff back yet
Somebody posted this morning in a different thread that they already have a 2020 SA Houston offer at a BB. Not sure which BB has already had a super day. Maybe Citi or Barclays?
A lot of firms have given out first round interviews with a couple of BB giving out super days. I know that Citi gave out some offers, but I don't know if they finished. JPM has super days this week for the Houston O&G Group. Moelis has given out some 1st round calls. I've heard that HL gave out an offer back in May. I'm guessing TPH has started too because they have the week long workshop that usually leads directly into interviews. Evercore has also started, but it depends on your school's recruiting team. Besides those, I feel like most firms are currently reviewing resumes and giving out first rounds unless it's hirevue to super day.
Can second this
Can second this as well. I was in the process with many of the firms listed.
Can confirm this as well. We've officially reached that time of the year. Best of luck to everyone.
Goldman had a superday last week, and notified the participants of their status yesterday.
First rounds for Lazard, Moelis, and Evercore given this week with Evercore SD next Tuesday.
Friend had Lazard superday today, anyone know if people got offers?
Offer won’t likely be extended for now since they’re hosting the second superday next week. Things could change tho
For those who did Lazard superday yesterday, anyone was asked to be back to their office next week?
anyone heard back from jp Morgan super day last week?
Offers were sent out on Monday
NE target here (but not a Houston target). I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight into the HOU recruiting process and where it's at as of now.
I just applied to all of the big players within the last week, so I'm just wondering if I'm too late to the process. And any general advice would be appreciated as well, since my school doesn't get much exposure to O&G recruiting, but I'm interested in the industry. Thanks in advance!
EVR, JEF, BAML, Moelis, GS, JPM offers were out. Not saying there won’t be another wave though. RBC and Wells are having superday tomorrow. Lazard did two waves of superday already for the past two weeks, so not sure they’re having more
Source: personal experience
Appreciate the info — any idea about groups that aren’t as far into the process yet?
Any updates on TPH recruiting?
On-campus first round at my school next week
Is Evercore done yet?
Deleted.
done.
What firms are still recruiting?
