Raine Group - Updated Culture, Reputation And Comp Information

Was wondering if anyone has insight on Raine's NYC office and how the firm compares to other EBs/BBs in terms of reputation, experience, exits, and comp since there seems to be very little info online.

Thanks!

interviewed and received an offer with them last year. nothing but good things to say about them. from what i saw, they give a fair amount of autonomy to their analysts and they really like to recruit people who will be with them for the long haul.

they are a mix of buy/sell side, so it's a good look if you're indecisive on what you actually want to do. they're in some pretty cool stuff and if anyone comes up with a good enough idea, the firm will run with it.

they're not well known outside of the TMT sphere, but they're well respected within it. i say this based on interactions with other bankers from BBs/EBs that I've spoken with. they also are on just about everything that Softbank does within the states, too.

AFAIK total comp is similar, if not marginally less than EVR/CVP. base was 90k for analysts last summer. didn't get an idea of how much bonuses were, but no one there was hurting for cash from the looks of their shoes/suits.

culture wise, they place a heavy weight on how you present yourself. literally every single person i interacted with was "one of the cool kids" - it seemed incredibly hollywood, which makes sense given the origins of the firm. i ended up going with a more established firm for this summer, but it was a really difficult decision not to go with Raine. I'd highly recommend them if you're interested in a career within TMT investing/advisory.

Pfizer-Array Biopharma, IBM-Redhat, Disney-Fox. I would say they reached lower EB 2 years ago but at this point, they are solidly EB.
