Day in the Life MF Investment Sales Broker

I'm considering a career transition into commercial real estate brokerage (specifically MF investment sales). Would really appreciate people's perspective on the day to day, pros and cons, as well as realistic long term earning potential.

Currently interning with a multifamily investment sales team. For a broker, it seems that the majority of their time is spent networking, whether this is cold calling, maintaining client relationships, or speaking to other professionals on potential or current listings. The biggest pro would be the commission based aspect of the job, as this leaves no ceiling on potential earnings. However, this aspect can be seen negatively by some, as this job lacks stability. A big reservation I have about a brokerage is how you ride the waves of the market. Starting a career out this late in the cycle is usually considered pretty risky. All in all, I think it's a great place to learn the basics of commercial real estate and to begin to look at the intricacies of multifamily properties.
