Do we have any Dead Heads in here?

Looking to gather some more Dead favorites to add to the playlist. I got Standing On The Moon and Althea calling in. Let's name off some of those favorite gems and years...

Honorable mention- Brown-Eyed Woman (Denmark '72)

Big fan of 1973 myself. setlists are so great from that year and they have such a good sound. A little honky tonk, a little jazzy, and a lot rockin. The shows from that year always sound like they're playing in a cool dive bar/theatre.

I know a lot of older people in finance (im a student) who used to go to shows back in the day. Wonder how many finance youngin's will bump some dead.

Amazing how music that good can bring people from all walks of life together. communists to hippies to frat bros to druggies. incredible.

Honestly a bigger Mayer fan than Dead, but really excited to see them both together.

yo man honrstly, ive never goneout of my way to listen to the grateful dead becaause a. im 26 and 2. i have self-respect but ijust listened to it. it isn't bad. but are you familiar with pink floyd? pink floyd is better in every single way, you should listen to pink floyd instead and these shitheads should shave.

heister: Look at all these wannabe richies hating on an expensive salad. https://arthuxtable.com/

One of my finance professors in undergrad was a big Dead Head. Other people have referenced him on this site before but at the end of the semester and he told the whole class that a lot of us looked too stressed out and that we need to relax cause "none of this matters and we're all going to die." I think he did his fair share of "experimenting."

Got into the Dead about three years ago and absolutely love it. Listening to 3/20/77 on Relisten at the moment, actually. I was in the pit at the D&C show in Eugene last year and the dude next to me had seen his first show at Winterland back in '73, so that was pretty surreal to head about.

Also wanted to mention that the Brown Eyed Women you mentioned has such a fantastic intro. Definitely up there alongside the St Stephen from Live / Dead

One that you won't find on Spotify or Apple Music is 1985-06-30. Merriwether Post Pavilion. Jerry is well into a year off of heroin. His playing is great and Brent is on fire. Brown Eyed Woman is great the Shakedown is what the show is known for as it is likely the best one they ever played. Go to Archive.org and look for the Charlie Miller soundboard.

Huge Deadhead here - glad to see others on this board. Unfortunately never saw the original or Jerry, but have been to about 100+ cover band shows (DSO, Further, Dead & Co, Melvin Seals, and a bunch of other/smaller/local bands). I also play about 75 Dead songs on guitar (I do a mix of Jerry and Bob) and plan on starting my own act soon.

I find it hard to listen to GD SBDs/AUDs in a shuffle/playlist format; if you're gonna do that, you're better off sticking with Set 1 songs from official releases that don't segue into a jam. Otherwise it's like getting blue-balled when a tasty jam starts then it abruptly cuts into whatever's next on your shuffle that isn't Dead.

Happy to recommend shows. Some of my favorites that aren't the typical 72 or 77 shows are:

8/6/71 6/16/74 7/31/74 9/24/76 10/31/80 7/7/89 7/19/89 3/29/90 3/25/93

Cheers
