Recruiting at Hines

Does anyone know how recruiting at Hines works exactly? (In order words, what happens behind the scenes after your resume is submitted to their site.) I ask because I’m currently in the running for an analyst position with a group on the investment management side (been speaking to them for a couple of months and we’re down to a final superday next week). I just got an email from an MD on the development side though, asking to speak with me about another analyst position. Do different groups at Hines handle recruiting independently of one another? Is there limited communication amongst the groups?

Needs can shift rather quickly at the firm and so management looking to hire can open doors to roles that may not be advertised—it’s not a bad thing. People can and do shift into different departments as the firm is large enough to retain the right people if they do want a move, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Hiring is typically done via series of interviews and calls with the respective team one would work with. In person interview(s) follow and then an offer of interview goes well. Sometimes a modeling test depending on the office and role.
