Not a company name but when I started my career I chased a building in LA that was named ICIS (

) literally pronounced ISIS. Nothing says "live here" like a war mongering anti-american jihadist group. Pretty sure whoever named that building was run out of the industry.

*Building was built in 2012 so to the comments below, yes, I understand the name had good intentions but the timing couldn't have been worse for the property. It was just about that time ISIS came to the world stage. Now when we rename our buildings I google the shit out of any potential names to avoid situations like this.

I mean... I would assume the building name preceded the political/jihadist group?

Isis is also the name of one of the chief goddesses of the Egyptian pantheon, pretty much the equivalent to Hera. So while there might be a later negative association, like with a swastika, the original intent may have been benign.
