Leveraging AM Equity Research experience to Corporate Dev?
Trying to break into corp dev as an equity research analyst but not sure how to do it as i've never worked in IB - no transactions or M&A under my belt.
Corp dev isn't rocket science but i'm not sure how to best leverage my equity research background.
Any advice would be dynamite!
Hey Venturepapi, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot...do any of these help:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
I don’t have any direct experience with this move. But I’ve seen resumes where a person had previous research experience and ended up in a Corp dev type role. It’s seems like it’s typically been at the more senior level when a person has 10 plus years of experience. I’d say in general larger companies might have more strict ib/pe background requirement whereas smaller companies may give you a look if you have some type of industry expertise that would be useful.
Currently being in ER it’s a move I’ve considered as well. So anybody with more direct experience in this area that could comment would be helpful.
