How important is handwriting?

My handwriting makes me feel like a child.
I may be wrong, but I think that it can be impactful at times. For example:
- Writing comments on a deck? Whatever, right?
- Writing a nice "thank you" card? Can't make it look classy no matter how much I try. It's sad.

Has anyone made a conscious effort to improve handwriting?
Have you seen results?
Does it influence your perception of colleagues?

Not important at all. But I think calligraphy is kinda cool. I learned about this dude Zen Master Ikkyu who lived in the 1400s in Japan who was a hilarious dude, he was this nomad traveller philosopher dude who was really into calligraphy and also fucked mad bitches and got wasted everywhere he went. I fucked with this dude hard. He wrote dope poems. Real motherfucker. Then, I went to Japan and went to a calligraphy (why does that word need two Ls? can we just cut the shit?) shop that had fucking walls and walls, floor to ceiling, of these beautiful glass vials of powdered pigment. Each one was labeled with a number. They started with "1" and went into the thousands. There were like 300 different shades of light blue. And the whole shit was organized so it was one giant gradient. It was a sight to behold. Anyway, I wanna get into caligraphy now. And that's how we spell caligraphy going forward.

I gotta watch rick and morty one of these days. I keep falling asleep 15 minutes in because the only time I fire it up is when I'm way too high.
