2+2

Anybody have advice on how to spin a story for deferred enrolment programs at HBS/GSB? I have heard it is geared towards students that aren't from typical business (IB,PE,HF,MC) background? Is this true? Any other advice on getting in would be greatly appreciated!

The rationale from the school's perspective is that if you have a traditional job, why do you need a guaranteed admission in 2-3 years? You can go down the traditional path and if you are great at what you do and apply in 3-5 years, you will likely wind up with an admission offer at one of the top MBA program. The clients I've worked with who have been admitted to 2+2 and deferred programs are taking risks with their post-undergraduate career that candidates going the traditional IB/MC route are not taking. Feel free to contact me off line [email protected] if you have additional questions.

Is it even worth looking into as someone going into IB? Have a SA position at a top 10 bank next summer and assuming I get a return offer, could I be a competitive applicant? I'd much rather deal with b-school apps as a college senior than when I'm working, but at the same time my path is about as traditional as anyone (want to go IB->PE) so I don't know if a top school would even consider me for a 2+2 program.
