Path to Asset Management from UG at Arizona State

I am currently a junior at Arizona state double majoring in Finance and Economics. I want to break into Asset Management at a firm that focuses on long-term value investing in equities. What are some steps you would recommend I take to increasing the possibility of becoming an Analyst at an Asset Manager?

I think value investing works because it is based on the underlying business instead of the stock price. If you are good at calculating the intrinsic value of businesses, you will be able to determine when they are selling at a bargain and when they are overvalued. Value investing also works because it does not rely on pure speculation to achieve outstanding returns.
