Interview with CEO & CIO
Hi all, I’ve been through some interviews with this pe firm and have a final round coming up where I’ll be meeting the ceo and cio at the same time. Sounds as if this is only for me to lose. What kind of questions do you think it’d be appropriate to ask both so that each can chime in. Firm’s only a few years and ceo joined almost ten month ago so he’s relatively new. Both have investment experience.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Any thoughts on how to stand out would also be appreciated!
Guys any view on this? Please chime in
At this stage (Assuming you completed the Case Study) it will be more focused on behaviorals as they look to see if your the right fit.
In theory, anything is fair game at this stage to ask you, but I would recommend making sure your zoned in on the fund (including strategy, portfolio companies).
Questions to ask can be centered around the fund such as:
How's the culture of the firm given the recent start to fund?
In terms of portfolio company #1 and #2, I see your teams looks to interested in this [INSERT INDUSTRY AND SUBINDUSTRY HERE]. Where do you see this space moving in the next few years? (this is better way to ask this but I am just brainstorming for now)
In terms of how to stand out, truthfully, that is going to come down the individual.
Hi guys, debriefing here. Had an interview with the principal, ceo and cio (all separate). Sharing some quick anecdotes: - when the principal gave me his biz card, he told me that if I have any questions I should feel free to WhatsApp or call him. We had a casual chat. - after that, spoke with cio where we spoke about common interests. We also did a case which I did well on. Cio also mentioned he’d heard his team was impressed by me. - interview with ceo was good too. This was after cio. If I did well with cio, he’d introduce me to ceo (that was Hr’s plan). It was the last interview of the day (very basic) and when we were done he came to the office entrance to bade me farewell. Good sign? - a few times during the convo all 3 indirectly asked / stated that I could start soon.
All in all, there was no red flag but it’s been 2 days and I haven’t heard back yet. Worse no one responded to my thank you email. Should I follow up? From what
Performance in an interview is all about perspective. There have been plenty of interviews I thought I nailed but did not move on. There have been other interviews I felt iffy about my performance but actually moved on.
I would say wait a week from when last interview happened and follow-up. Proceed with the other processes on hand or do whatever else you can to take your mind as much off it (I know that is tall task and near impossible, but try to do so).

What's the update?
Haven’t heard yet. What do you think of my situation?

Sounds like a small fund - could be less structured in terms of process. I’d give it a week or two.
It's a total 10 person investment team.
i'm in almost a similar position. would be interested to hear other people thoughts.
Update:
Yet to hear back from this firm.
Im sorry
