Help- Urgent (regarding fund of funds)
Hey guys,
Don't post much on this forum but just had a question, hope someone with some actualy knowledge can help me out. My friend who is a senior in college just got an interview with some outfit called Lighthouse parters, asked me what I thought of them (since I'm "businessy" in his words). Anyway it's for a quantative investment analyst position.
My question is does anyone have any info about it (is it prestigious, salary, etc.?) and more broadly how does working in a fund of funds differ from working in just a regular hedge fund? The duties include developing and fine tuning analytic tools, and hedge fund due diligence, which doesn't sound all that exciting.
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated, he has to decide whether to interview with them or not.Thanks.
I don't understand. Why are you the one posting on here asking, then? Couldn't he just do that himself?
Or is the story deeper than that? Does he want an answer in the next 2 hours, and if he doesn't get it he will assume you not as "businessy" as he originally thought?
"Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated, he has to decide whether to interview with them or not."
Thats hardly urgent. If he thinks he may be wasting his time interviewing with them then shouldn't do it. The risks outweight the potiential rewards.
sleepyguyb - i think u have it wrong. what is the downside in interviewing? i cant see much but an hour of your time wasted (which is worth very little).
Great input guys, really helpful, the dilemma for accepting the interview or not is that his cousin is getting married during the scheduled interview date and he asked them to change it, hasn't heard back yet. Anyway he already has 2 offers (non-finance) but he is really interested in this job once he read a little bit.
The reason it's urgent is because the interview is apparently coming up soon, and I think it may take a couple of days to get some good responses.
If it's that important and urgent he should probably just come on here and post these questions on his own.
