<1 year in MBB. How do I use the next 6-12 months to develop as much as possible?
Hey buds,
I've been working at an MBB for less than a year and am a bit underwhelmed by the experience.
The people are great, the pay is awesome, and the cases are interesting, just not super in love with the hours and some of the more menial day-to-day (editing appendix slides, formatting decks).
Within the next 6-12 months, I'd like to leave the firm and work in tech (leaning less towards business operations and more towards product/marketing/sales).
Any words of advice related to:
1. What I could do to best develop the skills required for the roles that I'm interested in
2. Whether I should stay at my firm or leave for something more aligned with my interest
3. Anything else I'm missing...
Thanks!
What are your hours like?
Lol this will likely sound "manageable" to you (someone in IB), but I'm working 11-12 hour days for the most part
