Vent-Less Jacket
I found a really nice and relatively cheap suit. I am a slim guy and it fits me very well. But the problem is that it has a vent-less jacket i.e no slit at the back. Is this a problem?? I will be interning in NY and as I understand a vent-less jacket is more commonly associated with Italian suits. Should I buy it or not? I love the fit otherwise. My office is Business Formal.
bump. I would really appreciate your opinions. Thank you
Dude, if you like the way it fits and it's a good looking suit, then just buy the damn thing. I don't think we're all as shallow as you seem to think. Nobody is going to look at your suit and think "what a LOSER, he doesn't have a vented back..."
Believe it or not, we have much better things to worry about than what some college intern is wearing to the office.
big problem, double vent is the way to go
"There were these huge bins of clothes, and everybody was rifling through them like crazy, and I grabbed one. And it fit! So I don't think that this is totally just a woman's suit. At the very least it's bisexual."
Great episode!!
Anyone else . I couldn't figure out if the above two posters were being sarcastic or serious.
BUMP
ventless = no go
This one guy who joined at my IB at the same ime of me had an ventless jacket, he is still an analyst, while I am pushing my way up towards Director at the moment.
You do the math
I would appreciate some serious answers please.
Sorry if I am coming across as annoying, but sometimes it's hard to tell if people are being sarcastic on a message board.
I think its pretty obvious that everyone is just busting your balls.
Think about it - something like worrying about a vent-less jacket is real petty. Buy it if you like it. It's not what you wear, but how you wear it. If you feel comfortable wearing it, then go for it.
Suitquest. I really don't think it matters; though personally, I would never wear a ventless jacket.
I'm a fan of double-vented jackets. If nothing else, they drape better when you're seated. That being said, some people prefer ventless jackets because they can create more of a trim silhouette if done properly, but that's typically only if you have a good tailor or go bespoke. Personally, all my suit jackets are double-vented, and my sportcoats are either single- or double-vented.
Just emailed HR - they said you could be fired that shit. I wouldn't risk it.
Seriously - do you have the confidence of a 12 y/o Russian prostitute. Sit back, take a deep breath and think about what you're asking (unless this is a joke - I have entertained myself to posting studid shit on here before). Don't worry so much, man.
but I've met some pretty confident 12 year old prostitutes.
