Best offices of MBB?
what are considered the "best" offices to work at for each of MBB? eg. i'm guessing NYC for McK, maybe Boston for Bain? which of their overseas offices are respected?

NYC is the unofficial HQ of McKinsey - many of the top directors work in that office. London is highly regarded as well - the former MD worked out of London. Nowadays, though, McKinsey's focusing a lot on Asia - the newest MD was chairman of Asia.
BCG and Bain are both headquartered in Boston, so those offices are historically very significant.
I wouldn't be too concerned about trying to pick the "best" office for any of these firms. MBB are truly global firms with unified cultures and largely autonomous offices. You'll get pretty much the same experience working in NY as you would in Jakarta.

Larger cities are always going to be the best.
If you want Government projects then go to DC.
However, as a consultant most firms will allow you to go any project team around the world. So, city does not matter for projects/cases/engagements.
Is the difficulty in getting these jobs in other offices high ? What would the GPA requirements for good school undergrad be for like the KL, singapore, or manila office be etc ?

If you could be a MBB undergrad summer intern in any English speaking office outside the US, what office would you choose? Considerations should include quality of casework, quality of the city, salary, and likelihood of getting a return offer.
London will offer the best projects. It will simultaneously therefore be the most competitive with a higher standard (hence harder to get the return offer). From my understanding they offer a considerably higher salary than any regional office.
Both bullshit.
1) Number of return offers is very very high given that internships are far harder to get than FT offers. Number of internship offers is very low, but those who get one generally get a return offer.
2) London salaries are lower. Offers have not been indexed for the fall of the pound and CoL is very high.
You should tackle this question differently and ask where you can actually go with only English. This is as far as I know only the Nordics, Amsterdam, UK offices of the developed ones. Then there's South Africa and Australia for the less developed offices

Hi,
I am currently at an Engagement Manager level for a top consulting firm in London, I am primarily performing Commercial DD work so I work primarily in M&A environment. Currently considering my options and since I am truly global (speak several language, international background....) I can work anywhere I'd like to, so I am keen to perform some basic arbirtrage between locations to select 2-3 cities where I am going to earn the most, best lifestyle, good healthcare, etc... I have a wife and a daughter (WSO. Any idea ? Typically people thinkg about UAE and Russia for the money, South East Asia for the fun and North America for the work...Canada and Australia are also pretty good....
Curious to know which country people would advise me to consider...
Here's what you're gonna do:
1) Find work easily in Southeast Asia because there's so much going on here.
2) Set up base in Singapore and pay 17-18%ish in taxes... MARGINAL rate.
3) Get to live a comfortable lifestyle anyway without having to worry about silly things like kidnappings and petty thievery because... crime? What on earth is that?
4) Enrol your daughter in the very strong Singaporean public schooling system.
5) Let your wife hang out with the wives of all the other expatriate businessmen here, and enjoy being in an area that's got one of the highest concentrations of millionaires in the world.
Although you might see things differently because you have a kid, I think in your situation I would consider "safe" emerging countries like Brazil, Turkey or, as you mention it, Russia.
I've got a few friends who were in London, NYC and Paris who moved there, and they all love it. Career-wise it's a good move because many major companies are developing their local practices, it gives you amazing credentials for when you feel like coming back home ("oh, he's worked there!") and the lifestyle is pretty good (except Brazil where they seem to actually work a lot).

I wouldn't pick Russia. Climate, culture, congestion, healthcare, and education are by far not the best possible. Nothing is wrong with picking one of like 3 decent hospitals and 3 good elementary schools but come on. Aand the growth has slowed. P.S. I live in Russia.
