3rd year move to NYC

I will be starting at JPM/CS/UBS/BarCap on the west coast with goals in megacap or top MM PE.

I am thinking about striving for a 3rd year offer and transfering to M&A in NYC to get better deal experience. Assuming that the bank will 100% allow this, what are the pros and cons of this?

I assume the amount of work will stay the same or get worse. Is a year enough time to make an impression on bankers in NYC to get good recs? Do you think will I be treated favorably or unfavorably, assuming I was in top or second bucket during first 2 years (meaning would I be put on good quality deals)?
