Almost everyone at Stern is a finance major, they do very well for placements in investment banking; I think they are ranked... #2 behind Wharton for undergraduate. To put it simple, if you want to get into investment banking and you go to Stern then you

 

Going to Stern as an undergrad is great, but the MBA does take a slight back seat to the other top schools. In all my conversations with recruiters, it was always the same story: "Our target schools are Chicago, Wharton and Columbia. Once in a while we take from Stern, too." That's what they all said.

(side note: HBS and Stanford are second to none, but in sheer numbers they don't tend to send as many to i-banks--they more often go into buyside or consulting jobs.)
