American Psycho - Anyone seen the movie?
Has anyone seen the movie, or read the book American Psycho? It's a novel/movie by Bret Easton Ellis about a 1980s yuppie named Patrick Bateman, and is very intriguing and unique. In a way, kinda like the movie "Wall Street", Bateman talks like the NY Times style or music page about his wardrobes, his musical preferences for Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, and Huey Lewis and the News, and has the Zagat guide memorized.
Never head of it. Was it just released? Is it in 3D?
NO, the book came out in 1991 and the movie in 2000

Lol. The sarcasm is palpable isn't it?
Looks like a good movie. Might have to see if it's on netflix. It looks 'too boutique' for most of us on here though.
Boca, are you a 7-year-old kid? Don't you know we remember you from like 3 weeks ago? TROLL
In case you didn't pick up on the sarcasm.....we've all heard of it. Most of us have seen it and read it. You aren't discovering anything and half the screennames on this site reference the movie.
I strongly prefer American Psycho II: All American Girl. It is a very well written follow up to a the cinematic disaster that was the original American Psycho
hahahhahaha
I had to google to find that there was an actual sequel
Yes, Christian Bale.
I think he's more well known for his supporting role the Shaft remake starring Samuel L. Jackson...
FTW
It's hip to be square.
Craig McDermott: Oh, I forgot. Bateman's dating someone from the ACLU. Timothy Bryce: The voice of reason... the boy next door. [looks at restaurant bill] Timothy Bryce: Speaking of reasonable, only $570...
I think they should remake this film every decade.
I am having a moment of sheer panic as I realize that I've never heard of this movie. Luckily, I can return some videotapes and see this undisputed masterpiece. Relief has just washed over me in an awesome wave.
LMFAO
+1
If you have the time, I recommend reading rules of attraction. It is the story of Bateman's little brother at a New England prep school (oh wait I mean liberal arts college). It is amazing how spot on this guy was for '80s New York and its people. All of his other stuff is pretty good, but not of the same level. As for the film adaptation of Rules of Attraction, it is good, but misses something that is f-ing incredible about the book.
Have you watched Wall Street? It came out like, just a little while ago and it's a good watch. You should watch it.
Read Lunar Park, another novel by Bret Easton Ellis. It's narrated by Ellis himself and it actually dives into how the character of Patrick Bateman supposedly haunted him both while he wrote American Psycho and years after.
are you fucking kidding me? Are you actually on the site asking if anyone has ever heard of fucking american psycho you fucking amateur?
NEWB. Fucking NEWB.
The tasteful thickness of his post... Oh my God it even has a watermark...
Well, for one thing, I think he was probably a closet homosexual who did a lot of cocaine. That whole Yale thing.
"He had a yacht? No he just hung out there...."
I was browsing the style section on WSO, it was approximately 4:17PM when I saw this thread. I believe in giving sound advice and a balanced viewpoint. If idiots like this post I will promptly put on my asshole mask while I continue to work on my bullshit models.
After I remove my asshole mask, I ask the poster if he has any further questions.
