Hi guys - I'm wondering what a good salary looks like for growth equity. I'm intereviewing with a growth equity fund sized at $2bn+. Recruiter says a 1st year associate role (which I'm interviewing for) would pay $210K (cash + bonus) Frankly, this seems a bit low considering this is supposed to be a really top notch growth equity fund. What's going on here? Is there a chance that some comp comes from carry - either of the whole fund or of specific deals you source?

What are the starting salaries for investment banking in the U.S. for 2019 (stub year)? I'll be a summer associate this summer and was wondering how salaries are at BB, EB, and MM banks.

Hi all, does anybody know what salary should be expected for an IB Associate position in Madrid (let's say in M&A/Capital Markets). I presume it varies a lot between BBs and non-BBs but I have no direct information and what I have found on here is a bit outdated. Thank you!

Currently an analyst at one of the larger well recognized MM banks. I was recently offered direct promote to associate-1 after I finish my second year as an analyst. No third year required. Offer details below: * Salary: ~$125k * Option for promotion to Associate-2 within the first year based on performance. * Once promoted to Associate-2: $20k sign-on bonus, 4-week sabbatical. Does this seem typical? I haven't heard of too many A2A offers from Analyst-2's so thought I would put this out there for some info and also for others in a similar position as it seems this route is becoming more and

Hey everyone, I'm in the application process for Pacific Lake, a PE group in Silicon Valley that operates on a "search fund model". I'm excited about the group because I've thought this could be a good fit post-MBA for me, so I get the chance to test the waters at low risk. I'm coming from an MBB consulting group with only one M&A project under my belt. I've got two questions: 1. Any suggestions on what to study for the interview process? Do they care about DCF/LBO models as much as standard PE shops? How do I study for this? 2. Anybody know what to expect in the role? Type of work, salary

Hi guys I'm really conflicted and need some outside perspective I've gotten an offer from deloitte (A) that is a 10% cut from where I am now. I have an offer from another company in industry (B) that is 20% more than where I am now. The pay difference between deloitte and this other company is 3,250 per month or 39,000 per year. The primary reason I was looking to leave my current company was to get a big brand name on my resume - I'm not planning to get an MBA so I figured deloitte would do. With the serious pay differential, though, I might as well go get an MBA with the extra money I make

Hello, have you ever heard of Associates not getting a pay raise going from one level to another? I am rather shocked but my bank (2nd tier bank) has not raised front office associates salaries in my team (likely applied to higher ranks too) because of tough environment, but they rather pay bigger bonuses at the end of the year. To be clear, salaries are not at the top end of the bucket here, but rather average.

Anyone have an idea of what base salary and total comp would be for an acquisitions associate position at a large asset manager or lifeco? clarion, pgim, invesco, tiaa etc? Thank you in advance!

I have been lurking for a while and I've been reading that a lot of BB are increasing their new hires salaries. Will this affect the 1st full year salaries and so on? Or bonuses? Essentially what will the new A0, A1, A2 and A3 salary bonus look like now with these changes for BB banks? Thanks in advance everyone

Hi everyone. I was promoted this year from Analyst to Associate, but my base pay only went up 5-6%. My total compensation went up much more though. I was expecting both a bonus bump and a significant base pay bump, but I only got the former. I was wondering if this is normal. What is the average base pay for a first year associate without an MBA? For context, I work for a top BB investment management division on a research-heavy team with a historical track record of success.

Interviewed with Summit Partners, they said their base was 65k with no sign on with a year end bonus of up to 65k plus 15k for each deal that you source. Is this normal? Also, is Summit as awesome as they say they are? Its a lot of cold calling, which sounds miserable but the lifestyle is a lot better than banking. Any thoughts opinions on Summit would be helpful too? All the older threads about Summit are pretty old.

So this form is always pretty good about circulating compensation. The junior staff is always very good at posting. BB on the street first 1-3 years out tend to make between 70+30, than I'm guessing 100+40 with premium young guys making total comp approaching 200 by their third year. Guys who did not make it into the private suite have to sit in the club seats. They make more in the 80 total comp range and hit 100 after three years. I think these numbers are all in the ball park. What is interesting to me is the growth potential down the road. What are these positions making at 5 years down the road? 10 years down the road? I have a friend on the buy side (mutual fund) that says bonus comp really doesn't compete with the sell side. So really, what is the average BB employee making at age 26-30? What is the most baller 28 year old you have ever heard of?

Hi Guys Just wanting to get some info in relation to what I should be asking for or what base salary I should be negotiating with Greenhill Caliburn as a 1st year associate? Also, any insight as to how their bonus compensation works would be well appreciated! I have been told by some greasy recruiters that Greenhill Caliburn usually pays 100%, but is know to pay up to 150%. How true is this, especially in the current state of the economy? I do know that Greenhill Caliburn gets some great deal flow in the Australian market. Please focus your replies to the questions or themes requested in my post. At this stage, I am only interested in Greenhill Caliburn. Thanks

There's a lot of information about IBD salary ranges but almost nothing conclusive on Asset Management salaries within BB's. Does anyone have a gauge on what the salary ranges are from Analyst to Associate? How much lower are they than IBD?

First post! Hey fellow monkeys. I just accepted a job outside the US and I am wondering how I can gauge my comp against a US based salary (as almost all the discussions here revolve around US based compensation). I guess the thing that matters with compensation is not what you make, but what you pocket after taxes, expenses etc. So here is what I did (all figures converted to USD, there might be small rounding errors). Gross compensation: 93.5k* Total taxes: 14.2k** Net income: 79.3k I then went to: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/rankings_current.jsp - found out that the 'Consumer Price Index Plus Rent' for my city is about 65 as compared to the NYC base of 100 (indices explained here: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/cpi_explained.jsp).

Hello monkeys, does anybody know how much non-BB banks (e.g. European tier 2 banks such as BNP, Credit Agricole, Soc Gen, HSBC) pay in European offices to Analysts and Associates in M&A/DCM/ECM? Is this in line with London (e.g. 50k Euro instead of 50k Sterling) or tend to be significantly lower? Thanks!

Could anyone give me figures about their overall compensation starting from Associate, VP and going up to MD in Toronto? At BIG 5, Bulge brackets, and Boutiques to compare them all I'm guessing VP's go at about 450k to 650k , Directors 650k-1M, MD's 1-5 Million (Do you think one could attain anywhere between 3 and 5M ?) And do you think Goldman Sachs pay the same across border? And more then the Canadian 5? Is it ''common'' to see senior bankers making in the millions in TO? (I'm talking 3Ms or more) Or is it so rare that you would be considered a superstar banker? Would you choose TO or NYC

Hi everyone. I'm going into my second year at a mid tier MBA program after finishing up an internship working at Merrill Lynch wealth management. Worked a fair amount with PBig and it seems that my supervisor was pleased with my work and recommended me for a full time offer (his words). My question is what sort of range of compensation can an associate with 3 years of pwm experience, a solid MBA, and 3rd level CFA candidacy expect? Any insight you have would be much appreciated as I decide how hard to throw myself into job search while I wait for mid-late September. Thanks!

What are average starting salaries for ER Associates at the MM banks like Piper Jaffray, Baird, Raymond James, etc.? And for associates what is the typical bonus range? What impacts your bonus? Similarly what are ER Associate salaries for like 3-5yrs exp and bonuses? If you've worked at a MM as an ER Associate and want to disclose your company/salary that'd be really helpful! (maybe pm me if you prefer?)

Does anyone have basic pay tiers for REITs, PE, and RE PE groups for undergrad and post-MBA? I'm trying to break into commercial real estate post-MBA without a financial background, and wondering what to expect from REITs and other firms that may not require IBD experience. While I'm willing to take a lower paycheck in lieu of experience, I am hoping to start at around 100K base or so for NYC. Thanks for the help.

I have an interview next month for the Oversight and Controls leadership development program with JPMorgan in New York. I was informed that since I have an MBA, I would join the firm as an associate rather than as an analyst. Does anyone have any idea what this type of back-office leadership program might pay? This is a full time position, not an internship.

Can Associates on this site please list base salary for 1st, 2nd and 3rd yr Associates? I am trying to get a handle on all of the changes that have taken place. To my knowledge GS and JPM is 95/95/105 (due to raise freezes last year). UBS seems to be at 130/140/150. Can anyone provide details on other firms?
