I realized that BofA and MS seem to be the only BBs that (aside from ensuring full pay) have not disclosed how they plan to proceed with this year's SA programs. Anyone have any ideas/information on how they might go about this?

Has anyone heard back for this event? Also, I'm really curious: how competitive are forum events like this one? Do most people who apply just get in or is it very selective?

Hi guys, I am a 1st year MBA candidate at a top European business school and I just got the offer for summer internship at BAML in London (even tho it will be 99% virtual). Which are the product and/or industry groups that traditionally hire the most so I can maximize my chances to convert my internship? Moreover, from an exit opportunities perspective, which groups in BAML are the best to land into PE mega funds? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thought I would create a discussion on my experience interviewing for an IB position at BofA in London for SA 2021. Unfortunately I did not receive an offer to join the team, but I gained a valuable experience and learned a lot about myself as I made it to the Assessment Centre (no Superday due to Covid). Although all SA jobs are more than likely full, feel free to ask any questions regarding the interview process, lead time etc.

Just had a Superday this past Friday. I applied for the global quantitative analytics internship in September, was given the Hirevue in October, and had a Superday (3 30 minute phone calls) on Friday, November 13. There was a "networking" call the day before where all the Superday candidates could ask current quants questions etc. and I noticed there were at least 50 candidates on that call (I'm assuming all of whom had the Superday the very next day) and yet I haven't heard any updates from anyone? Has anyone heard back from a November 13 BofA Superday yet or know when we should expect to

Is BAML still sending out hirevues to other applicants? I applied months ago and just received a hirevuew. I was just interested to see if any other have received first round virtual interviews as well this late into the game.

Recently left BAML (product group / ivy league) for a buyside opp, so thought I'd share insight on groups. BAML is an excellent bank, but thought I'd be REALISTIC with those looking for advice. M&A and LevFin usually have the largest intern and analyst classes, with the coverage groups trailing in size. FSG always have the smallest with 5-8 analysts per class. *RE is not included in the list below, but is one of the top 3 RE IB groups by RE exit opps ### Product Groups PE placement is highly reliant on the individual. **Just being in a product group alone will not guarantee you PE, just as

I would like to have some insights and recent news about Bank Of America. What makes BofA unique and different from other banks? Very hard to find much information on the internet. So feel free to share your knowledge with me. Thank you

Has anyone heard back from a SD for BoA sophomore S&T? I did mine a couple weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. The IB sophs seemed to get theirs within the same week or so, but there wasn't much talk from S&T sophs.

Hey! I haven't seen a megathread for BAML 2019 SA yet, so here it is. BAML applications open July 1st. Post here if you have any updates!

Hey Everyone, I have a BofA First Round Interview tomorrow evening, with an Analyst and an Associate (in Toronto). Does anyone know the type of questions I should be expecting (anything BofA specific apart from the 'Why BofA'). And does anyone know what the process looks like in Toronto, or for BofA in general. After the first round, if it all goes well, will I be called in for a round 2 or a superday? I would appreciate any help!

Hello, I am a current analyst at a boutique bank. I am interested in joining a BB hopefully and i've had my eyes on a particular job at BAML, the title is PSD, M&A analyst. not really sure what the psd is but I do want to get into M&A. however, the job posting has been up for about three months. i was wondering if anyone knew if this role is still open or know anyone that got this offer? Thanks in advance.

Anyone going or know more about the program, how useful it is towards recruiting or if it will be focused on IB or other divisions?

Hey, I just went to the sales and trading superday in the NYC office (Oct 6), just wondering if anyone went there could share some updates if any. Thanks!

Diversity recruiting has been the subject of several posts over the last few weeks. Although there are existing WSO posts that try to aggregate opportunity for diverse candidates, this one aims to be an exhaustive list that includes all the introductory programs and formal internship pipelines offered by firms on the street so candidate are aware of these opportunities. As new opportunities continue to be created, I plan to update this list. diversity investment bank programs The opportunities are separated into two buckets: introductory programs and internship opportunities. What are your thoughts on the following banks in terms of company culture: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Barclays, and UBS? How is the culture of their investment banking divisions in particular?
10 Apr 2017
Is the investment banking summer analyst position better at Bank of America Merril Lynch (BAML) or UBS?
30 Sep 2017
Hey, New to WSO and am looking to recruit for a SA internship next fall. I go to a target school in the east coast but am originally from LA. I decided that I'll probably stay in the west coast upon graduation. I'm looking to ultimately recruit for PE after my analyst stint, therefore Financial Sponsors is probably the group I'm most interested in. I know the west coast has some solid FSG shops, but was wondering if someone can fill me in? As I don't go to school here, it's a bit hard to know. Been reading through the forums but many of them are outdated and I would like some more feedback

I am currently interviewing for both a summer analyst position for Citi's Private Bank and Bank of America's Corporate Bank for positions in New York. I am a sophomore from a non-target school with a 3.8 GPA and got into these programs through their sophomore events. What are your guy's thoughts on which one should I take if hypothetically get offers from both? Which one has the better culture? Which one pays more? Which one gets me more experience? These would be for the summer of 2019 in the New York City offices and I have both of the superdays on Monday. Additionally, my 3 favorite areas

Just had superday in NY on November 3rd for Bank of America Sales and Trading. Has anyone heard back yet?

Hi There, I am going to be joining Bank of America as a summer analyst this June. I am very interested in the financial sponsors and healthcare group and wanted to get some more detail on the groups if anyone is familiar.

#2 in volume today is Bank of America (BAC), it's at $16.66 - what will its stock price be Friday at market close? Closest guess to the closing price on Friday wins a free WSO tshirt. Rules: You must submit your guess by 11:59pm ET Tuesday (Dec 17th).

I accepted an offer to join BAML this summer as a sophomore IB analyst. I am wondering which group would best position me for PE. Right now I am debating between LevFin and Financial Sponsors.

Would love any insight on the following: Lazard SF (tech) vs. Houlihan LA (TMT) vs. BAML LA (generalist)

I had interview with Bank of America Quantitative Middle Office. First off, I am not sure what they are doing exactly and the answers are not consistent. I was told it's similar to quant on the desk... but why a quant in the middle office? Has anyone worked there before and how's it really going? For some reason it seems really suspicious.

I have 2 summer internship (London) offers for the IB divisions at DB and BAML and would really appreciate some advice. I really liked DB's culture and the way they go about their business, the division has a great team of people. They seemed very supportive and they really focus on the personal development of interns/analysts. I also find DB to be more prestigious but that's just purely down to my personal subjective opinion.

Now it's not just the clueless activist events leading up to this that were hilarious, but the actual responses by Bank of America. When New Jersey resident Mark Hamilton wrote an anti-foreclosure message in chalk on the sidewalk in front of a Manhattan Bank of America branch, he was told to leave by cops. So he took to Twitter: "Just got chased away by #NYPD 4 'obstructing sidewalk'." he tweeted under his handle @darthmarkh. (darthmarkh? really man?) Brands are supposed to use social media to show their human side, but apparently Bank of America – and the alleged humans that run its customer service Twitter feed – missed that memo.

Anyone know anything about BAML Toronto IB? Got a few questions below: 1)Is their full time analyst and summer recruiting done for 2020? 2) Is their summer/full time program generalist or industry specific? 3) What deals have they worked on recently? 4) How do they stack up relative to the other globals in Toronto?

Hey guys, I've been curious about what it was actually like to work for Lehman Brothers and Bear and Wachovia and I-Banks in general during the financial crisis. Anyone that worked at these places or knew people that were there willing to share their story and tell us a little about what it was like? Did any of you guys see this crisis coming, did you lose a job and how did you get back into the game? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I have offers from both of these firms for their sophomore programs and I obviously need to pick one (I'm from a target). Here's a breakdown of each: UBS President's: Four 2-week rotationals, each in a different area of the investment bank (IBD, S&T, group tech, office of the COO, etc). BAML Global Banking and Markets: Two 5-week rotationals, 5 weeks in IBD and 5 in S&T. My questions: -Which would offer me the best experience? -Which would look best on the resume? -Which would offer the best platform/recognition in case I wanted to recruit next year? Thanks for the help!

What are people's thoughts on culture, exit ops, percentage of interns that get a full time offer? TD is LevFin, BAML would be Generalist or M&A

BAC rallied considerably today but does any one else share the sentiment that its a steal right now? Even at $10? The stock has just gotten beaten to high hell with the legacy mortgage issues they inherited with countrywide. I personally think that although they settled for around 8.5 billion, they handled the situation relatively well. Moynihan inherited a pot of shit when Ken Lewis went on a spending spree starting in 06 with us trust, countrywide, Merrill. Throw in basel regulations on capital requirements (which they will have no problem meeting) and there has been nothing but shit sentiment on BAC. The stock is still trading at half of its BV per share and i think its severely undervalued...anyone else agree or am i raving lunatic

Did anyone try the BAML First Round Video Interview for Sales and Trading? Would be glad if you share the questions here.

"Friends don't let friends go long BAC." – Eddie Braverman Well folks, we all thought he was nuts-but here we are, months after John Paulson opened a long position on Bank of America, going all in when it was trading at around $5 per share and a lot of people (including a lot of the simians on this site) were crying foul. Every just KNEW Bank of America was done. Terrible management! Expensive lawsuits! Losses like crazy! Fed stress tests coming up! Forgetting crying foul, most of us were SCREAMING foul. Talk about a contrarian play. BAC closed today at 9.53 after cracking the double digits during the day. How bout them apples? Mr. Paulson looks set to book a tidy profit for his fund.

Hi guys, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever gone through BofA's MRAP interview, or any other Market Risk Analyst interview, and could maybe provide some tips and example questions. What should I expect them to ask me? How should I prepare? (This is my first Market Risk interview, and I'm also not that familiar with Finance, being a Statistics major.) Any help welcome and appreciated!

David Tepper grew up in a middle class neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA. He became interested in the stock market after observing his dad, an accountant, trade stocks during the day. Following high school, he enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh, where he excelled. After Tepper graduated with a degree in economics, he found a job with Equibank as a credit analyst. He quickly became bored with the role and enrolled in the MBA program at Carnegie Mellon's School of Business, now named after him. Tepper's experience at Carnegie Mellon helped him learn options theory at a time when there were no textbooks written on the subject. Kenn Dunn, the Dean of school of the school himself taught these option courses.

I know it is usually first.last(at)baml.c0m, but this is not working for this one guy. I have tried first.last(at)baml.c0m, first.last(at)ML.c0m, first.mi.last(at)baml.c0m, and first.mi.last(at)ml.c0m, but to no avail. Any ideas? EDIT: Sorry for the weird (at) and zeros, but WSO will not let me post the e-mail address formats any other way since I am a new user.

I've gotten a number of PMs about analyst housing in uptown Charlotte, so I thought I'd consolidate my responses and post them publicly for everyone's reference. Hopefully this helps all you incoming BofA/WF analysts looking for places to live. I'm assuming if you want to live uptown, you also want to be walking distance to bars as well as work - the center city is going to be best for you. I would recommend looking for a condo rather than an apartment, since the apartment buildings are a bit of a longer walk to both bars and the banks. The two nicest buildings in town are the Trademark (333 W Trade St) and the Avenue (230 S College St). Both are your typical "high rise" stylistic condos - metal and glass, wood floors, stainless appliances. The Avenue has slightly nicer amenities. Both buildings will probably run you in the $1400 - $1600 range for a singe, or about $2100-$2400 for a double, depending on how high up and what floor plan. Both are within walking distance to BofA HQ and Wachovia One, as well as the Epicenter and all the uptown bars.

Has anyone one here worked in (currently or previously) in the BofAML Palo Alto tech office. What is it like? Work pace, culture, deal flow etc... Thanks!

Hey all, Did anybody who interviewed with BAML in Charlotte this past friday hear back with an offer/rejection? If you did, can you post when you heard and for which group? I know it's still early, but I'm just wondering if they gave out any offers on Friday. Thanks!

after a bunch of interviews and such i have been left with a strange assortment of offers, but at least its something. i have an offer to work for a commodity trading firm that deals with physicals. I also have an offer to work at a startup hedge-fund on the trading side. Lastly I have an offer with Bank of America middle office. I want to be a trader, but everyone around me says go with bank of america since its bigger. If i go to bank of america what is the best middle office position i could go into so that i can have a chance of switching to trading or sales?

Anyone have any insight as to what the exit ops look like for this position? I am finding it hard to find much information on this position.

A few moments ago, BofA CEO Ken Lewis (our hero) and Merrill's former chief John Thain hashed things out in what was referred to as an "emergency meeting", trying to determine what exactly Thain's future will be at the new Bank of Merrill, or whatever the hell it's going to end up being called. Looks like Thain's hitting the road, according to CNBC. Perhaps his lavish spending had something to do with it. Here's a list of a few of the renovations he did to his office when he came on board at Merrill: Area Rug $87,784 Mahogany Pedestal Table $25,713 19th Century Credenza $68,179

I am quite comfortable with being a technophobe. I don't have anything against technology, but in many ways am still not sold that many recent inventions actually improve our lives. In more than a one respect, I think the myriad of techno-options available for daily exercise only add to unnecessary sensory overload.

I was fortunate enough to receive SA offers from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Credit Suisse, and Deutsche Bank all in New York. Any and all comments are welcome. I would love to hear some third party opinions on this great problem to have. Thanks.

Word is that BofA/ML private wealth management new hires are not getting drug tested. Can anyone shed some light on this? I have a friend who, in view of this information, has continued to blaze regularly, and we're curious if that's a bad idea. (Note: I'm not here to debate morals or character or religion or whatever else you might want to tie to marijuana use.) If they don't drug test now, will they drug test later on, and if so, is there a required warning period? Any information would be valuable. Thanks in advance, BP

I have been accepted to a top 20 MBA program and have started to do some research about MBA internships. One program that caught my eye is BoAML's Research Associate program. I was hoping some one could help me figure a few things out. 1. Who works on a research team/What is the make up of lets say the Hi-tech research team. 2. Does an Associate interact with external clients or only people in the bank itself. 3. I understand that people who go through a post MBA IB associate program have limited exit options (it they weren't IB before the MBA). In terms of exit options, is the same thing true
