Hi, Was interested in an updated commentary on CPPIB's reputation, comp, exits at the junior level. I am particularly interested in it's private investments division and its rotational program for direct-out-of undergrad analysts. Is there a precedence of people from CPP going to top MF's and/or top HF's in the states? Thanks.

Dear Monkeys, Canada Pension Plan has invited me for an interview for the Summer Analyst role (2020, London office). What should I expect? They're hiring for multiple teams, ( i.e. Private Equity, Real Assets, Active Equities, Capital Markets & Factor Investing, and Credit Investments groups), which means that I have no idea what a case study done by them would look like. What should be my key focus points technically? Also, when putting an offer from them side-by-side with an IB offer, how would you guys place them in terms of exit opps / career progression? Many thanks, A Concerned Monkey

Hi All, I am currently torn between two Summer Internships offers : one from a BB bank, the other one in Private Investments (kind of Private Equity) at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Both offers are in London. From what I've gathered during the interviews and through my own research, the work at CPPIB is far more interesting, gives more responsibilities and is closer to what I would like to do later. They also assured me that they were willing to hire all their Summer interns for full-time positions, and that it was the goal of their Summer programme. However, I feel that the training programme is much better and more established at the BB bank, and that if I take the CPPIB offer, I will close more doors than if I were to take the BB one.

Hi all, I was wondering about how CPPIB stacks up against the globals in Toronto (Lazard, Evercore, BAML, Citi etc) in terms of comp, lifestyle, and exit opportunities. I am personally leaning towards CPP because the work seems more interesting, and I really enjoyed the people I have met at the firm. The analyst program at CPP allows for 3 rotations across their active equities, principal credit investment, private equity, and real asset divisions. My concern is that I would be making a mistake not pursuing the traditional banking experience when trying to pursue exits down the road. I have

Hi all, I recently got 2 internship offers and deciding what would be better for my career development. 1. Analyst gig at Big 4 derivative valuation team 2. Analyst gig at investment risk team at CPP Investment Board Ideally I know the big 4 role could be bit more exciting as I get to deal with clients also help generate revenue for the firm but doing risk at CPPIB doesn't sound bad either. Ideally I want to eventually break into trading or structuring (my background is math) and any suggestion would be nice! thank you in advance!

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with CPP's Private Debt group and Private Investments group. Anyone know anything about their interview process, what kind of questions they like to ask, and more intel on both groups? I think their PI group is fairly self explanatory, but I haven't gotten much info on their Private Debt group and what they've done besides a short paragraph description http://cppib.ca/Investments/Fixed_Income/Private_… It'd be great if someone can fill in what their PD group has gotten involved in. Thanks all!

Hi Monkeys, Is anyone here familiar with the interview process for Natural Resources team at CPPIB? I hear there is a case study in the 2nd round. What is the case study focused on? Natural resources, DCF, LBO etc. I would be thankful if you can provide me with information or access to a prior case study. I am certain a couple would be floating around. Thanks!

Does anyone know what the interview for the CPPIB analyst rotational program is like? Does it gear towards the technical or stick to more personal type questions? Moreover, does anyone have any info on the culture and the experience of being an analyst over at CPPIB? Interested in applying for this position/program over the next few days.

Hi everyone, I was looking at the analyst posting by CPP ( http://careers.cppib.ca/candidates/SearchJobResul… ), and I was wondering if anyone had any experience working in a similar position? It seems to be a mix of IB, ER and PE responsibilities, but you get a lot more interaction with senior managers right off the bat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
