Want the SparkNotes? We got "banker speak" for nothing. But you don't need a SparkNotes because it was only a whole 30 seconds or so on an hour-long call. Senior Leadership on Junior Banker CIB-wide call: "We saw the materials and saw the forum" - nice, I would hope so. "We're exploring resources and solutions" - as you said you have been for months on end now… and as you SHOULD be at all times… without a deck or forum or having to tell me lol. "We've set a net zero emissions target for 2050" - sick bro. So what value did any junior bankers at WF pick up from the call? Please chime in because

Hi, was wondering if anyone who applied has heard back from Credit Suisse yet for their IB internships in HK/SG - thought I'd start a thread now that applications have closed.

Diversity recruiting has been the subject of several posts over the last few weeks. Although there are existing WSO posts that try to aggregate opportunity for diverse candidates, this one aims to be an exhaustive list that includes all the introductory programs and formal internship pipelines offered by firms on the street so candidate are aware of these opportunities. As new opportunities continue to be created, I plan to update this list. diversity investment bank programs The opportunities are separated into two buckets: introductory programs and internship opportunities. If you had summer analyst offers at both, which one would you go to? Since CS is a BB and Jefferies is MM, I would think CS is better, but have had a few people at my school tell me they'd take Jefferies over CS. In terms of: 1. Exit Ops (MF PE?) 2. Culture 3. Learning Experience / Quality of Work How do CS and Jefferies vary?

Could somebody please make a bulleted list of all of the bulge bracket banks and include the core competencies for each bank at what they're best at? This would be to everyone's benefit who wants to learn the "scoop" on each of the big players

Since Credit Suisse opened up their applications so early this year, did anyone hear back about their application to the 2018 investment banking summer analyst program yet?

Have Silver Bananas for helpful comments. Incoming SA at a "mid-tier" BB in NYC in what's considered a "top group" on this forum. Think: Bank of America (Lev Fin, M&A, Sponsors) Barclays (Nat Res, P&U, Sponsors) Citigroup (Industrials, M&A) Credit Suisse (M&A, Sponsors) Would like to either stay in banking with a strong team or leave for MF PE / HF (like every other SA on this forum). Top target background. Trying to switch banks for FT seems risky to me. There's tons of posts on this forum about how small Wall Street is and even though it seems likely I will get a return offer, I don't want

Hi there! I applied Credit Suisse Summer Analyst program in both Singapore and Hong Kong, and got email from both offices regarding the online assessment. I am wondering if they share my results, so I don't need to take twice or I should take the test separately. I took the online assessment for Singapore last week, and also got email from HK that I should take the test. Hong Kong additionally said they would send you a link with the detail in a separate email shortly, but I haven't got.. So I thought under the same account in the online assessment website, each office shares my result. Anyone

I applied for an off-cycle IB position and was invited for the online assessment test. I was slow in the numerical test. So, I tried to compensate for it by attempting a lot of questions in the verbal section and then got most of them wrong. Quant: Total 18, attempted 7, correct 4 (average) Verbal: Total 18, attempted 11, correct 5 (below average) I am a non-native speaker but I don't think it's a valid excuse. What do you guys think? I thought I would receive the rejection letter right after the test.

Cheers monkeys. This is my pioneer contribution to WSO, but I come equipped with veteran skills. In short, I'm penetrating this kingdom like it's some fat Tu.mbler girl's safe space, and I'm up at 2 AM trying to crunch through an essay on intersectional feminist theory. I come from a somewhat unconventional upbringing. Broadly, I have two inquiries that will frame the narrative of this thread: first, can the street handle a BSD like me? Second, what do I have to do to replace some GDI Managing Director over at the Barcap Industrials group. However, I have recently started to see myself as more

Hello! I was hoping that someone could shed light on which group would provide me with the best learning experience for exits into PE? Will any of these groups pigeon hole you? As in if I am in TMT, will I not get to work on bigger deals because of the nature of the industry compared to Industrials where there are many established, big companies (more of them)? I have read that Industrials provides you with a very good transferrable skillset from a modeling perspective, is this more so true than TMT or FIG? It seems like in the TMT space a lot of the deals are ECM/IPO deals and there is not as

This topic has been covered in the past, but there it hasn't been discussed recently. What are the best NY based groups at Credit Suisse? I'm looking for the most quantitative experience as a Summer Associate.

Hi all, Currently deciding whether it's worth to interview with Credit Suisse's Private Funds Group (PFG) after receiving an offer from one of Parthenon/LEK. These opportunities are all for full time and I am thinking (although not set) on moving into private equity at some point in my career hopefully without an MBA. Any thoughts on the comparison and CS's FPG group in general? Thanks in advance.

Trying to figure out what industry/product focused teams have offices in San Francisco. Particularly interested in bulge brackets and e.boutiques as well as any consumer/retail focus If anyone could add to this list it would be greatly appreciated: Greenhill - advisory (M&A restx) Lazard - healthcare GS - TMT, generalist DB - Tech Barclays - Tech (Menlo Park) Moelis - Tech (Palo Alto) JPM - Tech Needed (in addition to any other groups that the above may cover): Evercore MS BAML CS Perella Weinberg Partners Peter J Solomon

I'm sure you all have seen this by now...But for those that did not enjoy below from DealBreaker: *A tipster inside Credit Suisse's NYC office reached out to let us know of a little summer scandal brewing over at Madison Square East. According to our source, an MD of the M&A persuasion apparently let himself get carried away on the summer vibes and let himself get sadly gross and cliche with his interns. Our anonymous Credit Suisser is reputed to have "Got stoned at a company sponsored summer outing, and then proceeded to head back to office after said outing only to start harassing summer

Hey everyone, I was looking through threads on CS FIG but they're all very old. On that note, I was wondering if anyone has some up-to-date insight into how the FIG group has been doing over the past year. I'd especially like to know more about the culture/conversion/placement as well if anyone can speak to that. Thanks!

Does anyone know anything about the credit investments group at Credit Suisse? Recently applied to FT after they reposted it not too long ago, but can't find the application now. Seems like a lot of the investments team is from top tier Lev Fin programs like BAML and a few lateraling within CS, a lot of Wharton grads, and growth seems to be extremely solid, but I'm finding little to nothing else on the group itself. Any insights on reputation, performance, or anything else?

Is anyone else attending Credit Suisse's insight program? I'm also curious to know how much attending affects one's chances of receiving an offer for the sophomore internship program.

NYC offices only: From what I can gather on this site, these 4 banks have typically been in the same range in terms of exit opps and overall prestige. I know this has been covered a lot, but I'm wondering if anyone has more recent thoughts given the craziness of 2021 (looking at you, Archegos) on the exit opps, WLB, culture, deal flow, and overall prestige between these 4 banks in NYC. Some kind of definite ranking specifically for exit opps would be pretty cool as well. Thanks!

Hey, Just wondering how realistic it is to exit into a Hedge Fund from Credit Suisse's Private Fund Group. What steps would one need to take to increase the likelihood of a successful transition? Who should one work on impressing, what certifications should one obtain, etc. ? Thanks for any and all responses

Hi Monkeys, i am interviewing with CS HK and they recruit interns in two teams, Corporate Finance (CF) and Global Markets Solutions Group (GMSG), and I was wondering what they actually do, especially for the CF one. Since obviously GMSG is more like ECM & DCM, would CF have some M&A exposure? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I just finished my online assessment for CS HK. Wasn't sure if interviews were already rolling but applied and took the test anyway. I was able to see the results right after. 1.Is the test just for screening out bottom x% or does only top x% move to actual resume review? (Mine was "quite fast" & "quite accurate" for numerical, and "quite fast"&"extremely accurate" for verbal). Anyone have rough idea where I stand with results above? 2. Can anyone update on interview status? E.g. hirevues gone out, etc Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi guys, As many of you may know, Credit Suisse's CEO Brady Dougan is being replaced by Tidjane Thiam in June, and many analysts are speculating that Thiam will downsize the securities and investment banking arms by as much as 3,000 positions in 2015. Do you guys think CS will go the same way as UBS at this point? Personally, I have an interest in equity research and actually find the day-to-day of a sell-side analyst quite interesting. CS supposedly has a strong reputation in ER, but will the change in management direction affect this franchise? Thanks.

How strong are these different groups at Credit Suisse in London and which ones will be best for breaking into PE and HF? - Leveraged Finance and Financial Sponsors group - Retail / Consumer - Healthcare - Energy - Real Estate, Technoloy, Media & Telecoms - Industrials - M&A I have used the search function, but it is difficult to find some sort of updated info. I have heard that their Healthcare team in London is small, but growing .

I used the search function, but a lot of threads are outdated, like pre-recession shit. Anyway, what are the TOP groups at Credit Suisse in NYC only? Is their TMT group in NYC any good? M&A? I know Sponsors is one of their top groups, but what else?

I recently accepted an IBD SA offer from Credit Suisse NY and am starting to think about what groups I should go for when placement happens in the Spring. I'll definitely try to talk to as many people as possible, but would love some preliminary information. What do you guys know about their TMT, Industrials, Sponsors, HC and/or M&A groups regarding culture, hours, and deal flow? I've used the search function but would like more recent information. Thanks for any help.

Both are in NY. I know they are not that different so probably it all comes down to culture. Really like the junior people at CS but not the MDs I've talked to. On the other hand, I like the senior people I talked to at Citi. Does anyone know what's the percentage of SA offers turning into FT at both banks? Also, any thoughts in terms of what to consider when picking the offer? Thanks lots!

Credit Suisse, once the best Swiss bank, is today barely surviving. Rumour has it that CS will be shrinking Investment Banking to increase focus on Wealth Management. The decline started well before Archegos, but Archegos losses and subsequent drop in share price (and thus drop in comp for senior bankers) led to the unseen exodus of CS bankers leaving for the competition. League tables reveal that CS places well below all other bulge bracket banks (worse than UBS and DB!) for the past three years and this does not even capture the departures of top talent and senior bankers - who were bringing

I know this topic has been discussed before but that was when Lehman was still around. I was wondering if ppl familiar with the area/banks would mind discussing which BB's (for IBD) in chicago are the best? Additional info about how big the offices are/hours/whether or not they execute from the office would be helpful too.

I have offers from MS and CS for their summer internship 2012 in London. CS is solely in fixed income and commods, whereas MS I could end up in any of equities, FI, or commods. They're both pretty similar programs - three 3-week rotations, with 1 week of training, compensation is pretty much the same, etc. The difference is that with CS you get to note a preference for your 3 rotations and then they match you based on which divisions want you as well, nearer the time of the internship, whereas with MS, you have no say in your first rotation, they look at your skillset and put you where they think you fit best (So I could end up in equities which I really don't want). I'm leaning towards FX/Commodities/rates. I know MS > CS for commodities, but I like CS more overall.

Hey, New to WSO and am looking to recruit for a SA internship next fall. I go to a target school in the east coast but am originally from LA. I decided that I'll probably stay in the west coast upon graduation. I'm looking to ultimately recruit for PE after my analyst stint, therefore Financial Sponsors is probably the group I'm most interested in. I know the west coast has some solid FSG shops, but was wondering if someone can fill me in? As I don't go to school here, it's a bit hard to know. Been reading through the forums but many of them are outdated and I would like some more feedback

Alright for those of us that are about to begin our final year (next week...gasp) in college and are working on recruitment for IB, I figured I'd make a thread so we can keep each other in the "know" as to who's recruiting when and what positions. This is for USA positions as well as UK. Also, for anyone that's already in IB that works at some of these firms that are recruiting and knows the schedules, feel free to post. I know DB and CS in London are recruiting. Wells Fargo Investment Banking applications go from September 20th-September 25th. JPM Chase applications are also start in September. Not sure as exact dates but a recruiter told me "beginning of September". This is for FT recruiting, not SA. Also, please don't post your resume for people to check.
