A bit over a week ago the hiring manager called me and told me it is down to me and another candidate for an analyst position at a REPE firm - during the same call the hiring manager said they would try to find another role for the candidate they don't choose, but he's not completely sure if it is possible yet. He said to move the process along faster, it would be useful for me to tell him salary expectations and the earliest I can start. Yesterday he emailed me saying that they're still having internal discussions but he is hoping he will get back to me soon. I know the team he is on is

Hey guys, I go to a target (H/Y/P/S) undergrad and we had our final-round interviews for the AC role at Bain (NYC/ Boston/ SF) on Tuesday the 29th. I know MBB typically get back with news within 24h if it's good or longer if it's not-so-good but none of my friends have heard back yet. What should we expect the decision timeline to look like? Maybe we can use this space to keep a tab on when decisions start going out... Would really appreciate any insight on this for this year in particular (have read through previous posts)

Just wanted to start this forum topic since I know a few of us are feeling antsy about Bain final round decisions. I would be interested in hearing about your ACI final round calls and the turnaround time to receiving an acceptance or rejection. Please post if you have or have not received an acceptance, and for which region of the US! Also let us know how your overall interview went from your perspective, and how well that matched the outcome. Thank you!

I finished all rounds of the interview process at a REPE firm, and was told it is between me and another candidate for the position. They asked if it would be possible for me to come into the office because they typically meet candidates at least once in person before they would potentially hire them. I was told to block off a few hours for the meeting, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I should expect in the meeting and how I could prepare. I've already spoken to 6 people at the firm for 45-60 mins each. I didn't get any technical questions, and was told by one of the head

I am at a non-target (for MBB )school in the US but have prior strategy consulting experience. I have been granted interviews by all three - MBB, through a mix of cold emails to partners, alumni (at MBB) outreach and by directly writing to the recruiter. Interview process at M appears to be pretty much complete, and BB interviews are to occur over the next 3 weeks. The M interview went well but was not according to any plan that I have heard of earlier. Here's what happened - I ended up being interviewed directly by a senior level partner, who among other things, explained to me why management

I need some thoughts on a final round interview I recently had (~2 days ago). I'm a 1st year associate at an investment bank and looking to lateral to a boutique to help build their investment banking practice. I met with a fairly senior person at the firm (not focused on investment banking but helps out when he can) which I think is the final interview. The first half of the conversation was mostly Q&A, just him firing off questions about my deals and experience. It was definitely not conversational and more of just rapid fire questioning. He had a blank stare, just staring at me, and had no

Hey guys, I'm into the final rounds of a SS ER position. Can you tell me what to expect? One round is with a panel of associates and final round with Director of Research. Any insight would be great. Thank you!

Hi wise people on WSO, I just finished my final round interviews with Bain, and sent a thank you email to my interviewers. My friend got a reply from the Partner who interviewed both of us, but I didn't get any response. I thought my interview with him went reasonably well, but I couldn't really tell if he liked me. I've heard a lot about how the interview with the Partner can be the most important one. If the Partner did not reply to anyone, I'd probably feel less anxious. But after learning that my friend got a reply, I just feel my last bit of hope was gone. Did anyone have similar

I was wondering how long or if I should expect to hear back after a final round for a lateral analyst position I had a week and a half ago? I interviewed on the phone initially then I was called in for a first round, where I met with a VP/Director/analyst. That same afternoon, after the first round, I was called by HR to schedule a final round for the next morning, Thursday 10/29. That Thursday I met with 4 MDs, including the head of the group. So far, I have not heard anything from HR or the staffer, both of which I have followed up with a week after the final round. Does anybody have

I have a final round interview coming up soon at a boutique investment bank. I've done one, hour-long, interview already with 2 analysts and now have final, 15-30 minute, phone call with a partner. I was wondering if anyone has experience in with a similar scenario. I'm expecting it to be pretty much all behavioral.

Hey everyone. I've been applying to consulting jobs just to see and I've gotten actually quite a few responses. One of the firms has expedited me to final round interview in 3 days. What should I do to prepare? I have never done a case in my life and I'm not from a quant background.

Hello Monkeys, I've been interviewing since last November with this well-known boutique for the entry-level position in the west coast. I had three rounds (phone, case study, video conference with associates). The last round was on December 1. I heard back on the third week of January. E-mail said "we are interested in pursuing your candidacy. Please inform of any deadline, etc." I replied, "I am interviewing with other firms but I have no outstanding deadline (no offer from other firm) but I am extremely interested in this opportunity (which is true). I'd appreciate if you keep me updated with the process." I haven't heard back since. I e-mailed the HR again, still with no reply. At this point I am not expecting anything from this position. I think they are

Hi everyone - I am currently extremely nervous. I had a 'Final Round' last week or so and I have yet to receive a response. To provide some context, I did not have a classic 'Superday' or 'OCR' structure and so I am not sure whether the saying of "hearing back in 1 or 2 days" applies here - it might, but I am not 100% sure. With that being said I haven't got any rejection e-mail or anything either. Throughout the process, they were extremely receptive and moved on with the rounds pretty quickly. I waited about a week since the 'Final Round' before sending an e-mail out and almost immediately

Hiya everyone. I have my 2nd (the in-person) interview with EY TAS Valuation & Business Modeling in the SF Bay area next week. I searched through the forums for previous 2nd interview experiences, but they were either 3 to 4 years ago or 1st interviews. I was wondering if anyone had any recent insights regarding the interview or what to expect. Anything would help! I really appreciate it.

Hi guys, I have a final round interview w/ Jefferies this week. I was just wondering if anyone had their final rounds already and if so, what questions should I expect? More fit vs. technical or a combination of both? Furthermore, if anyone else has interviewed with a MM firm, what did they ask in their final rounds? If technical, do they go beyond the basics? Thanks!

Hi guys, I just got invited to my first ever super day for Morgan Stanley Bank Resource Management. I searched and found a few posts on the group but they are all a few years old and didnt have that much information. Wondering if there's anyone out there that can give me some insight into what exactly BRM is and how to prepare myself for the interview. Would the WSO interview guide be helpful at all? superday is next week

Hey all, Did anybody who interviewed with BAML in Charlotte this past friday hear back with an offer/rejection? If you did, can you post when you heard and for which group? I know it's still early, but I'm just wondering if they gave out any offers on Friday. Thanks!

Can't say I usually ask these kind of questions, but I am dying here! Did the final round: -Called to follow up and was given the "let me see if he is available" and told he "just got on a call, let me get your number". Followed up with an email. -Sent an email demonstrating how I am a good fit. No eff'n response. In your experience, am I out?

My brother has offered to let me use this Hermes tie for an upcoming off-cycle (lateral) analyst interview at a top BB. I'll be wearing black shoes/belt and a charcoal suit/white shirt. I'm new to nice ties...this tie seems relatively subdued to me, but is it obviously Hermes? Do you think interviewers would notice the brand? If so, would it be considered douchey to wear this to my interview?

Hopefully this is helpful to applicants. I just concluded the third and final round of interviews for an associate summer internship at McKinsey and thought I would share my experiences and thoughts on the process. First a few disclaimers. 1-I didn't get an offer. 2-This will be applicable to people trying to enter through the APD process and probably less so for current undergrads. 3-My aim is to summarize the whole process so I will inevitably repeat things from many posts that already exist on this board. 4-I can't say for sure but I'm guessing this process is very similar to what will occur in September for full time positions. 5-Lastly, this may be a long read. I'll post bullet points at the end So here it goes... Round 1

A quick question: I had final round with BCG and thought I had done the best interview of my life: never stalled on any of the cases and asked the right questions. However, I was not extended an offer. I asked feedback and was told that on two of the interviews I did not listen well to the interviewer. Does it ever happen that the interviewer lets you continue with the case even though you are not on the right track, ultimately guiding you to the wrong conclusion? Any feedback is appreciated

Firstly, I apologise if this post is cluttering the forum. This is my first visit to the site, I did a search but couldn't see a relevant thread. If there is one then please point me in its direction to save time. I have a final round with Fidelity next week for a summer internship in equity research in London. This is my first ever interview for a buy-side role. At each of my BB interviews I haven't been asked anything remotely technical or market related. My education is in engineering so my understanding of these areas is limited. A few technical questions came up in the tele interview; I went through the different valuation ratios that I had researched and had to talk about a sector that I found interesting and what macro-econ factors where impacting it. This is about as far as my knowledge stretches. I've looked at a couple of research reports, looked up the services Fidelity offer on their fund supermarket site, prepared answers for almost every competency/motivational question I can think of. What else can I be doing for the next week to improve my chances? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Apologies once again if creating this thread was unnecessary.

Hey did anyone interview with Bain for the final round this Monday? Why's it taking the firm so long to get back to me? I emailed the recruiter to inquire about the turnaround time and she hasn't replied. Does this mean I'm dinged already? If you've already heard back please let me know. This waiting game is really killing me...

Hey guys, has ANYONE heard about invitation for superday for UBS HK IBD? I am just wondering, it seems like their super day will be in nyc (for those in North America) during the week of Jan 19th, but...invitations are not sent out yet...does anyone have any thoughts?

Hey everyone, I recently attended final rounds with Nomura Ops and still haven't heard back from them. They told me I'd find out the day of or the next day, but it's been two days already and was wondering if anyone else who interviewed within them for ops has heard back yet. Thanks everyone!

I had final round interviews (superday with several other candidates together) over a month ago and promptly received a rejection email. I thought I bombed this interview and it wasn't a good performance so I knew a rejection was coming. I didn't bother sending thank you emails or anything either.

Hey guys, I had an interview at a MM bank in New York this past week for FT. I think the interviews went well, both on the factors of fit and technical. I sent e-mails to all the people I met with thanking them for their time and expressing my interest. I received an e-mail response from one of the MD's just saying "it was nice to meet you as well." Fast Forward- I received and e-mail from HR today (Monday) saying that I can expect a call in the next few days from an MD to discuss the next steps in the process. What do you think this means? Non-target here.

Hey everyone, I was just wondering how long after final round interviews is it appropriate to contact HR about offers. I was originally told I would be contacted Thursday afternoon/Friday (Thursday was my final round) about offers, but still haven't heard back from them yet. Would e-mailing them tomorrow be too soon or should I wait it out a bit longer? Pretty nervous right now actually, haha. But the fact that I still haven't been rejected yet should be a good thing? Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Got a call last night after my MBB final round telling me I was on hold and would know for sure before Thanksgiving. My guess is that since I'm on the fence they want to wait til after their next 1-2 final rounds to see how I stack up. I've started reaching out to my (mostly junior) contacts at the firm to let them know/"make some noise." Would love to hear your advice! Thanks.

I'm a senior at UPenn (NOT Wharton, I'm proud to say, nor did I major in math/econ) who made it to the final round with BCG. They flew me to my preferred office, and it seemed like everything went well. I had a pleasant fit/behavioral, I nailed the first case, and I did fine on the second. Then I got a call this morning: no offer. This sucks, since they supposedly hire ~50% of final rounders, but OK.

I have final round interviews for Bain, BCG and McKinsey. Does anyone know what % of people make it to this stage and how many typically get offers? Is the second round still a huge pool for them to cut down from or do they only give second rounds to people who they think would have a good shot? They are flying me out for the final round (first round done on-campus)

Hey guys, Have an upcoming superday with a real estate debt fund. Modeling exam to begin for 45 minutes, technicals to follow. Any ideas on what to expect? I'm guessing a pretty basic test on excel skills? Thanks guys, would appreciate any insight. Just FYI, I'm an undergrad senior with a minor in RE.

Hello party people, I have a final round assessment centre coming up with Blackstone Corporate Advisory in their London office....does anyone know what to expect? Just had a final round interview with JPM today. Anyone know how common is for an MD to go into sell mode at the end of an interview? I'm not sure what to think since I was the first of 12 to get interviewed, but he actually admitted to trying to sell JPM at the end of it. Talking about the culture and the value of the networks, strength going forward, etc. Is this common? I've only had a couple other BB interviews and that hadn't happened yet, but I haven't heard back from anywhere so I don't know if it really means anything.

Hey guys, I have a final-round interview with PIMCO this week, and was told that before going for the interview, I need to take an one-hour assessment test about excel and finance. If you are applying for a job, it's been a while since your final round interview, and you hear that they are deciding between you and another applicant, what do you do? Just sit tight, or call them up and see what reservations they have about hiring you?

Here's the scoop: I am currently working at an accounting firm and have been here for about six months. I have realized that this job is definitely not for me long-term, and have begun to assess what I want to do. I have fished around and sent in a few resumes and have also contemplated going back to school. I was a finance and accounting major in undergrad, and have a high level success and interest in finance even though I am in accounting now. My dilemma is that I have just found out I have a final round superday interview in NY at a middle market bank next week which, as many of you know, coincides with a large deadline in the accounting world. What do you guys think I should do? Being a quitter is not in my nature and I would hate to bail out before a deadline, but knowing this job isn't for me long term and really wanting to break into banking and finance and get out of this accounting gig make it inevitable that I will be in new york come next week. I just need to figure out how. Thanks for the help and support in advance.

Hey guys, So I have a final round interview coming up and it's a phone interview. They gave me the name of my interview and it turns out I had previously met her at a networking event about a year and a half ago. Should I email her saying I look forward to speaking with her again? Or could that be embarrassing if she does not remember me? Thoughts? Thanks.

I have a final round interview coming up with MS Asia FID in Hong Kong. What kind of questions, specially technical questions, will they ask me? Other than knowing interest rate curves and bond pricing, what else should I know? I have heard they will ask brainteasers.. will they also interview me in Chinese? Thanks guys!

Hi everyone, Exactly two weeks ago (from tomorrow), I had a final round interview for a lateral Analyst position at GS. Three days after the interview, I reached out to HR to ask what a time-frame for a decision is, and they characteristically told me that the team is still working on a decision, and I should know by 'next week' (which is this week, and ends tomorrow). The wait is killing me, how do you suggest I proceed? Is it too aggressive/intrusive to call HR tomorrow? Do you suggest emailing them once more? Or reaching out to one of the people that interviewed me? Thank you very much
