GMAT Question - Day Before the Test
How much studying did you guys do the day before the test? Obviously, it would be incredibly stupid to do multiple practice tests the day before, but did you guys just stay away from the test or did you do some minor review?

Is my quant score too low?
Is a quant score of 44 (58%) too low for an MSc in management from HEC Paris, LBS or ESADE? Total score was 720. My undergraduate degree is also in a non-quantatiatve major (think history, political science, or psychology)
Strategy for SC GMAT
Hello fellow monkeys I decided to follow this startegy in SC questions, i wonder if anyone did the same and worked for him 1- read the whole sentence 2- split answers into groups 3- look for pronouns 4- look for verb-subject agreement 5- look for verb form 6- at the end use my gut what you think?
Group: GMAT Study Group
I thought it might be nice to start a GMAT study group. I became a GMAT tutor after scoring a 770 on my own test and wanting to use my skills to help others. If you have any questions about the GMAT or my experience, feel free to ask!
MsF: Can a 700 GMAT (req. min. 600) offset a 2.7 GPA (req. min. 3.0) in a Tier 2 university?
Hi guys, I have a low GPA (2.7) and I am going to apply to a Finance Master in a Tier 2 University (RSM). Their requirements, among others, are: - Minimum GPA of 3.0 - Minimum GMAT 600 - They will "decide if a GPA is sufficient or not" Do you think a GMAT of 650-700 would be enough to offset my low...
(GMAT) Do IR and AWA scores matter?
Do the people at admissions for MBA programs care about the Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment scores? I just began studying for the GMAT and the book mentions that the gmat score is computed only from the quantitative and verbal sections. This could make sense because I have yet...

Are there any cons of taking GMAT while in college?
Since I am about to graduate in a few months I was thinking about taking the GMAT soon but I am not a 100% sure if I want to. After thinking about it the choice to take it while in college seems ideal since I am still in that "study mode" and I am also not taking that many courses so I would have...
Finding time to study for the GMAT?
How do people find time to study for the GMAT and work full-time? Now my job is going to require only about 50-60 hours a week so that's doable but still difficult, but I can't imagine how someone in IBD pulling 80-100 hours a week could possibly have time to study. Unless of course they study and...

Applying to MS Programs
Hi everybody, I'm not sure if this doesn't belong here since I'm mostly applying to MSF programs, but I figured I would give it a go. Does anybody see major issues with words or formatting? I'm concerned that some of my descriptions are too wordy. Also for the curious, I'm applying to UT Austin,...
Already applied. How late can I retake the GMAT?
I applied to four schools already. Decision deadlines are in early to mid-December (12/7-12/18). If I retook the GMAT on Nov. 20 and informed schools, would that be a game changer, or would decisions already be set in stone?
Help with a stagnant GMAT score
I have a very unusual career background. I have a tight narrative and strong essays, but my 3.5 GPA and 720 (Q45, V44) last year placed me right in the middle of the range at top ten schools, and that's really not enough for someone with an untraditional work history and no hooks. I have to compete...

How to study for the GMAT once you reach the 90th percentile?
How should one study for the GMAT once they start scoring in the 90th percentile? I am just beginning my preparation for the GMAT and recently scored a 700 on my first diagnostic test. I thought I could use Kaplan's GMAT Premier 2014 book to prepare myself to score in the 750+ range but it seems...
GMAT improvement?
Recent GMAT threads have made me curios to hear about what people scored on the GMAT in their first try (no preparation) and what their final score was when taking the actual test (basically interested in seeing whether there is a pattern that reveals some form of "plateau" eg most improvement is...

Cold Hard GMAT: Are You Too Stupid to Hit 760?
Mod note: "Best of Bankerella" - this was originally posted 6/22/12 Do you want to go to a top b-school? You should have a 99th percentile GMAT . This is hugely controversial. I have no idea why. If you’re already assured of getting into your top school because you’re so awesome or your dad’s...

Getting extra time on the GMAT
I imagine the GMAT is, by law, required to grant extended time to those who can prove they have some sort of learning disability. CFA® vs. GMAT
I'm going to start off by saying this is not another CFA® vs. MBA thread. The purpose of this thread is to address a completely different issue. 710 on GMAT (48Q/40V) - Should I retake it?
